Is Chamberlain worth it?

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hi, everyone!

I'm currently taking my pre reqs at a local community college and next semester will be my last. I will be applying to numerous nursing school, including Chamberlain. I'm thinking of going into their Bachelor 3 year program and the courses that I'll be completing prior to applying will be; A&P, English, Psych, Public Speaking, Statistics, Ethics, Nutrition. Basically, I will just end up doing Nursing courses at Chamberlain. Would it be worth going there?

Note: Chamberlain is not my first choice of school, but it's definitely a back up although I am aware it is expensive!

Thank you :)

You need to consider several things: How is the hiring climate where you live? Will you find a job immediately upon graduation/passing NCLEX? How much will your student loans be, and most importantly — can you afford that payment for years?

That's true in regards to your financial situation.. I can honestly say I like it so far

Yes - in my humble opinion. Graduated 2 years ago taking 2 classes each session while I worked full-time at an extremely demanding job. Each person has to weigh up their personal situation. Yes it's pricey but it fit my lifestyle, instructors were excellent and I finished in the timeframe I expected. Worth every penny to me!

Be careful. Just because you have a pre-req done doesn't mean they'll accept it. They said my nutrition was from a public health standpoint and that's why they didn't take it. Also, you need 10 credits of anatomy. I have still enjoyed being there even though tuition is very expensive. At the hospitals around me they won't hire ADNs, you have to have your BSN. And things are very competitive so it is hard to get into any BSN program. In the long run, it's best to get your bachelors if you plan on advancing your career. Plus, at Chamberlain some nursing classes are online. My last year of nursing school I have one clinical day and one lecture day. It allows me to still work and have a life

I absolutely love chamberlain and feel that it's a school that's actually geared toward helping you succeed in the nursing profession!!! Yes it's expensive if you don't transfer in your pre-reqs but if you do which they should it will now be that expensive at all! All my credits transferred over from my previous university which I attended to complete my pre-reqs all except a nutrition class which isn't s biggy I will take it there and I believe it's also a online class. I personally tell anyone chamberlain is a really great school and I personally know 2 people who are graduation from chamberlain this August! No complaints from neither! Get in school work your butt off get out of school and live!!!

How much is tuition if you transfer in pre-reqs? Just a ballpark total figure.
