Nikki, I am in Chamberlain online MSN track right now and love it! I finished the 6 core MSN classes and am now in the educator track classes. I am doubling up this session and will have 3 classes left after the July session. I am doing my practicum online teaching an online class with one of my professors. Many students have done practicums in the education departments at the hospital they work in, or at nursing schools, or online with previous instructors. I believe you need 100 practicum hours. So far I have been pleased with the 8 week courses and professors!
Hi wanted to know if I can double up on NR 526 with NR 524, and NR 525 with NR 523. How is the practicum process, is there a criteria for the place or preceptor that I chose? How many hours are required?

I doubled NR 526 and NR 523. Those are the only classes I doubled! Practicum process was very busy. I taught an MSN class with one of the professors for my practicum. I would NOT double anything with the practicum. It was 100 hours when I was in but I think that has changed.
Teaching online for my practicum helped me secure an online teaching position with Chamberlain in the online BSN program. I finished my degree in Feb of this year!

I did a virtual practicum through Second Life with one of my favorite professors. We had to develop a teaching project, then present it to each other as well as the other tracks (Informatics, Leadership) that were also doing a virtual practicum. We explored various academic issues each week and did simulations to see how we would respond. It was really interesting and a lot of fun!
