This years AANA annual salary survey put the average CRNA salary in the 170Ks. Jobs and money all depend on what part of the country and city you work in.
  2. Does your salary reflect the school you went to? Or in other words does a "better" school tend to earn you a higher salary?
  3. I would look for a more unbiased source than locumstenens.com.

The only time the school seems to matter is when you are applying to independent practices (which usually offer higher salaries). A lot of nurse anesthesia schools don't prepare students to work outside of ACT practices/work independently.
  5. I recently shadowed and the CRNA supervisor at a Pittsburgh hospital said new grads start at $55/hr. That's more than twice what I make as a nurse but Pittsburgh is unfortunately low in all health care salaries. Some big company runs the show around here
  6. I made 55 an hr 20 years ago. I've not heard of anything lower than around 90 an hour. I would not work for anything less then 100/hr.
Of course, I've not paid any attention to poor practice states.

  7. Pittsburgh is one of the lowest paid markets for health care. What state do you work in?
  8. Back in 1993, I was moonlighting in Louisiana and Texas.
More recently has been Texas, Montana, Idaho and Washington.

If a CRNA is getting $50/hr, make sure they get kissed because they are getting screwed.

I made $62/hr as an ICU nurse in Santa Clara, CA just a few months ago before i started CRNA school. $50/hr for a CRNA, very funny!!
