I'm sorry but this is killing me..."as Tenesma said..." Ha! :D I get the worst visual.

Why is poop always so funny - unless you have to clean it up. ;)

I must have missed something. Where was it implied that poop is funny?

brett

the joke that you missed is regarding my name presumably (plural of tenesmus) ... that's right: go ahead and look its definition up!

:D

Since I am 'maturely challenged' it struck me funny that poop was telling us that we would have to clean it up! I guess I am just a visual thinker...my bad! :D

:chuckle

Ok, I am over it now. :stone

You need to get over the "cleaning up thing." What if you were that pt. lying in poop and a nurse thought ewe!!! What if it were your relative? The reason why people get into nursing is to help others. In the heat of the moment, it's taking care of the pt. not how gross it is, and it should be the last thing on your mind.

Wow, I really think that this got out of hand. In Angel's defense, I must say that when I read her posts, I don't see where she stated that she had a problem cleaning patients. She really did just ask a question and it took about 5 replies before someone really answered it. As a very curious person, I've been in this situation several times. I ask questions and the person responds to how they feel about me asking the question as opposed to simply answering it.

In answer to your question, I'm not a CRNA, but I worked in OR for two years. I've never seen a CRNA clean a patient's bottom. I have seen them cleaning the patient's face and mouth. I've also seen them cleaning the patient's chest when it was dirty or greasy in order to place their EKG leads. As someone else said, I'm sure they would probably need to clean vomit at times, although I've never seen a patient vomit in my OR.

She may not come right out and say she has a problem cleaning pts, but she has asked in almost all her posts about it. She sounds like she may have a weak stomach or something. In any form of nursing, poop isnt the worst thing you will clean!! I wonder if she is around and checking her replies, I havent seen her on, maybe I will pm her to see how she is...

I agree dontae that she didn't state that she has a problem cleaning patients, but it was IMPLIED that she had a problem.

I don't think she had a problem with cleaning butts, she just wanted to know. I'm a RN and I've cleaned many a butt and, being that I've only been nursing for 3 years, 2 days a week, I still manage to do it with a smile! Personally, I think it was a good question! I never would have thought of it, but once I read her post, I was very curious to find out myself. It did take a while for someone to finally answer her instead of jumping down her throat. How else would she know if she doesn't ask? Thanks Dontae!

personally, i have a prob when the first remark is about money. the next is when somone complains about poop; so for that i give an F-, and tell the person better luck next year.

in continuation . . . i really don't see the point in bringing this to subject. the link does not work? i have read it many times without fault, as have many others. can we please not talk about poop anymore on this board, because it is really detrimental to this whole concept of a professional board. i'd like to think we are past the whole anal/oral fixation thing.
