Another classmate of Class 71 here. I was accepted, an email was sent but I must have deleted by mistake. I emailed to check when the review would be completed and received a reply that I was amongst the group accepted early. I am soooo excited. I think this smile will be permanently pasted on my face for a few days.

My only advice is to relax, read some books for fun and take a vacation. Once school starts, you won't be doing any more pleasure reading and the stress level goes up a bit. You can still take vacations (I'm leaving tomorrow!! :D) but will be taking my laptop and textbooks with me. It's really never ending. But worth it in the end! You will all LOVE LOVE LOVE Frontier Bound! I'm jealous--I wish I could go again!!

Once you all get accepted, you will receive a copy of a book written by Mary Breckenridge ('Wide Neighborhoods'). It is required reading for Frontier students, as Mary is the founder of our school and one of the greats in American nursing history. I would get a start on the book when you get it--parts of it are a hard read. It's VERY inspiring and will help you truly appreciate the history you are entering when you attend Bound. Mary was such an amazing/trailblazing/tough/determined/self-sacrificing woman and reading her story will inspire you to follow your dreams! :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

Haha, I've already read it. I love reading textbooks. I finally finished the Twilight series, but I would LOVE for some school reading to get done before deadlines. It makes me happy to read research, I know I'm lame, but working in L&D it really is helpful :)

Just found out that I was accepted to class 71!! Looking forward to meeting you guys in a few months!

Congrats to all of you! I am in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Frontier. Was at Frontier in August and LOVED it! This is a top-rated school with tremendous faculty and it is a school with a heart! I have a friend who is near graduation and she has NOTHING but rave reviews about her experience. It's a lot of hard work, but well worth it! :yeah:

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm just getting started in the application process and hope to be in the Bridge class 74. I get so excited just reading things others have posted about their experience. I have to have everything submitted by Oct. 26th. Can't wait!! I hemmed and hawed (sp?) for over a year because going back to school is such a big decision. It's a huge obligation financially and requires alot of my family. After reading the posts here I feel so good about my decision to go back to school. Thanks everyone!

IS anyone in this group who were accepted into class 71, FNP students, or all CNM? Thanks!

I found that the majority in my class were in the midwifery program and about 12-16 of us were in the FNP track. I am sure you will find others who are in the FNP track. If you would like to talk about the FNP program, I would be very happy to share my experience. Let me know and we can privately share e-mail addresses.Just be aware, I have nothing but great things to say about this program! You will be WELL supported in a wondeful education! This program is very unique in that the faculty TRULY wants you to succeed and they strongly encourage bonding. With all the technological advances in healthcare, THIS school maintains the human connection. Is it a lot of hard work? Absolutely. But, you graduate with a solid and excellent education and a strong bond with fellow students.

Just as an example, my advisor e-mailed me after I returned home from Frontier Bound. I wrote to thank her and she took the time to respond. I had considered several other programs (Stony Brook and others). Frontier won because of their committment to compassion, exceptional education and faculty who are not only exceptionally well-prepared, but also some of the most compassionate women I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Plus, they take you to Mary Breckinridge's home and provide a lovely evening dinner with your class and faculty. I have a bachelor's and a master's in psych and can honestly say, I have NEVER had professors who were this astutue in knowing their students and being so dedicated to working with us as individuals. The awesome history of the school provides an aura while you are there. You can feel the wonderful energy. I just can't say enough about how impressed I was at Frontier Bound.

I wish you all the best and let me know if you would like to e-mail. I am happy to share my experience with you. I'm taking Pathophysiology and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention this semester and am really excited as the syllubus is full of interesting readings and projects.

So, the invitation is open....I believe in networking as we are all in this together.

Hi sandwitch883RN,

I noticed you are trying to get into class 74, I sent my packet off and then got the email conformation, then tried 2X to schedule the interview, but have not received a call back yet from the gal that does them, gonna try again tomorrow. How are you doing in your application process? I am from Oregon, where are you from?

Well, GOOD LUCK and I hope to see you in March!
