Focus Cares, Inc. -- anyone heard of them?

Focus Cares, Inc is advertising on Craigslist again in my area, NC, advertising for RN Care Managers. The position if for doing short health in-home assessments for Medicare recipients. He said they are contracted by Humana for this. I received an email following the initial phone conversation to discuss the job and they are asking me to submit a photo (for my ID, they say), copies of drivers license, ss card, BLS, PPD, etc. Sending my drivers license and social security care copies, along with my photo, makes me skeptical.

From a Google search I can't find a whole lot of info so I thought perhaps someone on here may be familiar with them.

Thanks.

I would not send DL or SS Number until farther along in the process such as a background check following acceptance of an offer. They don't need photo until you are hired. I'd be skeptical, too.

I agree. I'm not pursuing this one anymore.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Focus Care’s advanced nurses are located in every state, and are deployable within 4-6 weeks of project launch. Focus Care’s NPs average 7-10 years of prior nursing experience. I just almost completed the application process with Focus Care. The entire time I was leary, something in the back of my mind nagging...Craigslist..seriously? Today I sent them all my information, SS, DL, nsg info, banking info for direct deposit. About an hour after they recieved it I got a call from the guy I had been dealing with (never had phone contact with the woman to be my direct manager except for an email, and she had a slightly off tone, not sure how to take it) ...anyway, they halted and discontinued the hiring process as I did 'not have the information to them in the agreed upon time frame'. I was not really aware that this was urgent and I told him when I would try to get it too him. My husband went off...he said now they have ALL my personal and banking information and how do we know it was not a scam. I immed called they bank security dept and they flagged my account and told me to come right in to cancel my acct and open a new one. She was very concerned as scams can be very elaborate. I don't think this was a scam, but I was disgusted anyway. I have been a home health RN for 22 years with the same agency...I thought this job sounded too good to be true, I am looking to slow down and bit and lighten the load. Any thoughts on who the other Humana vendors are? I live in PA

Focus Care (no "s") is a national healthcare TPA with its corporate headquarters in Greater Boston. The company has been in business for 15 years, successfully serving countless health plans, patients and hospitals in that time. I am writing in response to some recent blog postings questioning the legitimacy of our Organization, to which I'd encourage interested parties seeking accurate information about us to visit us at www.focuscares.com. Thank you.

I have worked for this company, very little communication on day to day operations. Schedular makes appointments, not the RN. And once I put in my resignation, the VP became very rude, threatening and harrassing. Refused to accept phone calls, would only riddle her emails with insults and threats. When I informed her I would like to speak on the phone, as the emails were becoming rude her response was "Very juvenile and unprofessional. I'll determine next steps from here. Contrary to your tone, you don't call the shots with these members or your employment terms". Never in my RN career have I been treated so rudely. I am now looking into how to proceed, as many of her emails were threatening and harrassing in nature. My advice, steer clear of this company.

Some companies will search for nurses on Craigslist. The last company that I worked for had considered it as well, and they were worth multi-millions.

It seemed odd to me but when I chatted to my daughter she thought it was cool.
