Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

I accepted my UofT offer last night :)

Nice! TBH i am really leaning towards UofT too but the one day off is so tempting lol

Hey guys, I think I got accepted into York today. I don't want to get too excited cause I'm not sure if it's for the accelerated program since I heard they sometimes offer an alternative offer. For those accepted into York second degree program what does the "Program" under the application status say?

If it is an alternative offer it should say in ouac when you go to choices, otherwise it just says offer

Oh okay! I just saw it on myfile I guess I have to wait for it on ouac! Thanks :)

Thank you, and congratulations on Queens acceptance and graduation!

Lol it would be easier to live at home. Although, any other reasons to go for UofT? Just curious :)

Thank you, that helps!

Can you think of any other factors, which can be used to predict success in a program? You seem quite knowledgeable :)

This has probably been asked a lot, but does Western look at cGPA or last 10 credits? Really hoping to get in but my GPA is right below last years cutoff :(

Has anyone received their acceptance package mail from UofT yet?

They look at the last 10 credits! What was last years cut off?!

Thank you, that helps!

You can look up the NCLEX passing rates by school from previous years!

Thanks! and I've seen 82-84-ish posted a few times, I'm at ~81 in my last 10, so I'm hoping its lower this year

Did you happen to translate that to GPA calculation? I'm getting worried because I'm at a 79 currently, hoping for a 80-81 by the end of the semester (calculated to a 3.4 GPA).

Good luck to you!

I want to say like 3.4 or something? It's been a while since I've calculated GPA :( hope that helps, keep your eye on Trent they accept around 78%/3.2 ish !
