Did anyone take the May 2014 CPNRE?

Did anyone out there take the CPNRE yesterday (21 May 2014). If so, what are your thoughts?

Personally, I found it to be quite a bit more challenging than the Prep Guide or the Predictor tests.

I also took the test yesterday, like every test some questions were harder than the sample questions while others were easier. I was more surprised that in the predictor tests and working from the prep guide questions I took just 2 hours to complete, the exam yesterday I was in for nearly 3 1/2, so maybe it was overall harder.

That exam was BRUTAL! I studied using the prep book and I also did every question at the end of each chapter in my med surg, fundamentals, and skills and techniques books. I did another 1000 questions from an nclex "exam cram" book. Another 1000 questions from a saunders nclex prep computer program. With all those questions and countless hours of studying the last two months, I left with that so-so feeling from the exam. brutal

You described my feelings. I felt so prepared going in and completely blind sided coming out.

If I have to take it again, I honestly don't know what I would do differently to prepare.

Y'all sound like you passed it!

It's totally normal to walk out shaking your head and mumbling in a daze.

When I wrote it spread over the day (allow 8 hours to write) and two booklets with a break for lunch.

It's the over confident ones that worry me "Oh, I nailed that, it was so easy"

I agree with Fiona good luck to you all

Same boat here! I did the prep guide and went in feeling really confident. i finished in maybe two and a half hours, but it definitely wasnt what i was expecting thats for sure. i dont know how anyone could have prepared for the specifics in that exam. i've heard different things about whether its graded on a curve or just a pass mark though. has anyone been given any info in that regard? good luck to everyone anyway!

Hey:) I also took the CPNRE last week, and honestly found it to be a little bit more challenging than the predictor tests. The level of difficulty was higher than the prep book, so with that being said, the prep book did not help at all, imo. What really annoyed me was seeing two or three questions that were not spoken of in my program whatsoever.

I can't believe it's almost been a full week since the exam....time is literally crawling by. This is going to be the longest 5 weeks of my life.

I know what you mean. A few times I felt like I may have to sue my school if I don't pass lol there was some really random stuff on there!

You are aware that you're responsible for ALL the content of your program, whether or not you were spoonfed the information, right?

Yeah, I was kidding.

Forgive me, but I believe that remark was totally unnecessary. Years of one's life and thousands of dollars were invested in education which culminates in one 180 question test. Many of us have a lot riding on the outcome including job offers and the ability to provide for our families.

I believe the remark about suing the school was made in jest to relieve a little stress during an interminable five week wait. It was not necessary to insult the person by implying that they expected to be "spoon fed" their education.
