Hi, I need all your advice. I have already finish all my requirements to get into the nursing program but unfortunately I was place in a waiting list on all 3 schools I applied to. This fall i have no idea what to do.

Should I take a class and become a CNA for a while?

Please give me advice of what I can do while waiting to get accepted.

This is what I'm worried about too. I still have one more year of pre-reqs left, but my school has a lottery system where students' GPAs have no value whatsoever. As long as a person has a C average, he or she is in IF picked in the lottery. Sorta sucks, but oh wells. I'm scared that I might not get picked, meaning I would have to wait another year just so that my name can be in the waiting list lottery. I think I'm going to apply to two colleges, but the other one has different requirements and I do not have enough time to take additional classes this year. That school accepts students two times per year whereas the college with the lottery system accepts just once a year, I believe.

yeah it sure sucks to be in this situation. I am also thinking entering the respiratory care program. It is not as crowded there as nursing and the starting rate is also about the same. I will still be reapplying for the nursing program but at the same time I will open my choices that way i don't get behind.

I would take a class and become a CNA or PCA or PSW etc......Experience never hurts.

I would probably work as much you could to save money. I just got accepted into a program (YEAH ) and the books cost $450.00 plus all the other things I'll need like uniforms, shoes, a stethoscope, etc.

By God's grace, it didn't take me long. I applied to two schools and got into one of them. It was my first attempt.

Get your CNA and get a job in the hospital. If there is a specific area that you would like to work, it may be a great way to get into the department as a nurse. Many hospitals like to promote from within. I know that my hospital always has a demand for PCAs and many nursing students start that way.

I'm a Health Unit Coordinator now, but I'm taking a 2-wk CNA course to challenge the state exam. I'm going to be able to cross train as a PCA (patient care assistant), and this way when I do start nursing school, I'll already have some floor experience. A definite help when it comes to clinicals.

I'm going to take all of the optional classes as well as classes required for graduation, then what I can toward my BS.

Hopefully I will only have 1 semester to wait.
