West Coast University Spring 2018 BSN

Hello, I am starting this thread because I don't see any current threads for the 2018 spring start so I thought I'd make one.

I applied to WCU for the spring 2018 and was wait listed at number 5 and was granted acceptance into the BSN program. Everything has been smooth so far except my financial aid officer. Can't say I'm a fan of hers; anyways, I wanted to see if there were any classmates who would be joining me in their GE classes such as critical reasoning, pathophysiology, first year seminar?

It would be nice to make friends through out this 2 year process.

Hi ,

I'm about to take the HESI. How was it ? Also , I'm transferring a lot of my classes over. Did you qualify for student loans ?? Any info is appreciated.

Yes I did qualify for student loans but only borrowed 12,000 for the first year since everything else was covered with grants, and federal loans along with private.

Do you like the school ? Any tips ? How was the HESI ? Thank so much.

I haven't started the classes yet but so far the process has been nice and easy. I didn't take the HESI because I already took the TEAS and they took the scores.

I just took the HESI and passed. I didn't study for it either. For me it was the same as the assessment test at the community college I attend. I don't plan on applying until June 2018 at the Ontario campus. I am finishing up the last of my general classes to save money.

Yeah the less GE classes you take there the cheaper it is.

Hi, Im suppose to start Jan 22 at the Anaheim campus. I also have First year seminar, Lifespan Psychology, and Critical Reasoning. I still have some stuff pending in Financial Aid so I haven't received my schedule. Do you think you can tell me how the schedule looks like for your classes. I have 2 small children that I need to arrange care for and I just wanted to get an idea of how many days and the hours of these classes are. id really appreciate it

The classes are 5 hours long once a week. The FYS is a blended course that you only meet the first day of class and the last day of class. The other two would be on any day of the week for example my cultural pluralsim is on Thursday from 12:30 - 5:30 and my critical thinking is on Tuesday 7-12. I also have 2 children... I think they won't give you your schedule till they find out that you are secured with payment.

Hi! I'm also planning on going to Ontario this summer. According to my admission advisor there will be two start date this summer, June and August.

I'm a little anxious. You mentioned you didn't study for the testing but passed. Great job!

You mind telling us more about it? How hard was the math section?

Hi. I'm planning to attend the Ontario campus as well. Either June or August but so far its looking like June. I know that FAFSA can only cover up to $12.5K in loans and the Pell varies. Who else are you guys applying through for student loans? I'm hoping to transfer in about 5 courses. Even possibly thinking of waiting to start even later so that I can take more GE courses at the community college. So many thoughts running through my head. I want to work part-time but I don't know if I will be able to if our schedules changes each semester.

I applied to Sallie Mae for my student loan. I only borrowed about 12,000 for the first year. Yeah I suggest u knock out all of their required GE classes to pay less and stay they a shorter period.
