Hello Nurses,

Has anyone heard about a strike at UCLA for June 10th? I got an email from HealthSource Staffing stating there is a strike and that they are searching for nurses, but when I do online searches I have yet to find any info on it. Has anyone ever worked at a hospital that is striking? Of course money sounds good, but more importantly I would like to get input from various nurses. I want to make the right decision. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As of an hour ago, Thursday's proposed strike is legally banned.

It was POSTPONED. Temporary restraining order, the judge stated he needed more time to review the merits of the case. He will deliver a decision on June 18th, 2010.Private sector nurses have the right to strike once their contract has expired. Public sector nurses are under a different labor board (PERB) and that board almost always sides with the hospital (not impartial).

I am currently in California so I drove up to LA for the UCLA strike. Yea it may have been postponed, but I still walked away with a an extra grand in my pocket just for showing up and doing paperwork. Not to mention you get to meet so many nurses from all over the country. Its like getting paid to go to a convention. I will definitely sign up for the next one.

when do u think will it resume?
