Sjsu fall 2013 hopefuls

Just got this email:

"I am writing certain applicants, as a blind carbon copy, to notify you we have finished our preliminary screening of nursing applicants for fall 2013; We have 142 applications and as you probably already know, we only take 60 /semester. Right now, the preliminary impaction score is 10.78 -- I must wait for 10 days or so, to make sure that individuals do "yes to our invitation" ( or say no, which may free up an opening or openings). We are sending out some pending letters, so you may get a letter next week and I am trying to prevent massive phone calls and emails until after May 5th or so....Thank you for your patience."

Does anyone know if we can send our "INTEND TO ENROLL" to different schools at the same time- even if we dont know we will be going there? The deadline is on MAY 1st and I'm still waiting for SFSU and CSUEB to let me know about my acceptance. I received a message that says "If you do not complete any part of this multi-step "Intent to Enroll" process by the May 1 deadline, we will withdraw your application".

Can someone help me with this please??

Thanks. The letter does not mention the impaction score cut-off. Sorry. It's just full of the all of the paperwork ahead!

Wow, from a 10.37 Fall 2012 to a 10.78 Fall 2013. That is just ridiculous. I guess you can't get into nursing school these days unless you have pretty much perfect grades. How sad that our school system has come to this.

When she says 142 applications, is she referring to total applications submitted? Or just those that meet the 10.78 requirement?

Hey guys :)

I got the same email saying as fa5tenough. I'm hoping that means I'm high up on the waiting list. I'm so nervous and anxious because its is my first choice. Does anyone know if they'll be attending for sure or are they waiting from other schools??? Im hoping the people that got the really high scores have other options...well I guess based on their scores they can get pretty much anywhere right??

I'll be attending SJSU for sure. Do we mail the response form back, or are we allowed to drop it off in person?

I'm actually not sure since I took a course at a community college. I'm inclined to say 10.75 or a little lower, as prior calculation put it at 10.68, though it's entirely possible I messed up unit conversion. Yours is 10.7, right? I have my fingers crossed for you!
