Sjsu fall 2013 hopefuls

I haven't calculated my impaction score yet. One thing to remember, though, is that a lot of people (like me) who have applied to SJSU have also applied to several (or many) other programs. I've seen that a lot on these blogs. So, even though the impaction scores might be high, I bet a lot of those students will choose to go to another program, for all sorts of reasons. So don't despair, everyone! Good luck!

Oh, Scwolf, I'm sure your impaction score is in the 11's. I am so sad, this was my top school, and there's just no chance whatsoever with a 10.41 score. I can't beleive that they don't consider certifications (EMT, CNA, etc), recommendation letters, or multicultural experience. It's all about numbers. Unfortunately, numbers don't necessarily make good nurses. :down:

I just received my acceptance letter! Phew! It's my first acceptance (after a couple of rejections) so it sure feels good. Plus it has been a long road!

I'm not sure if I will accept. I'd like to hear from the other CSUs I've applied to. So I may be opening up my spot for someone on the wait list. We'll see.

P.S. I don't know what my impaction score is. How did you folks calculate yours. (Sorry if I'm being dense here.) I had a 3.7 cumulative GPA, 3.9 on pre-reqs, and a 94 TEAS score, if that helps.

Impaction score: 1) GPA of last 30 semester (45 quarter) units + 2) GPA in the 5 prereqs (Anatomy, Physio, Stats, Eng 1A, Micro) + 3) TEAS Score divided by 23.

Great job. Honestly. I know it's one of the greatest feelings!

@scwolf congrats on getting accepted!! Did the letter mention what the impaction score cutoff was? If so do you mind sharing what the cutoff was? Thanks! & goodluck with all the other schools you applied to!

I didn't receive a letter yet, but I did get this email: "I am sending this to individuals who got letters in the past 48 hrs, regarding acceptance for NURSING, for a Fall 2013 start (Provisional) [ FYI also, must accept UNIV if not already here too!]-- and several of you, already tried to download ( and were frustrated b/c of broken links) the creative securities background screen information to follow up on the background info ( due with return payment and form) in next 2 weeks basically---> although you could open under "policies", the "policies and procedures pdf" , the other screening documents did not open-- OUR web guru should have it fixed by later today (THURS ?) -- Check then- Thanks and sorry for the confusion! Hope this helps!"

Does this mean I got in, and my letter's just still in the mail?

YESSSS GO CHECK YOUR MAIL IT MEANS YOU GOT ACCEPTED!! I received the email and told my family at home to check the mail and the letter was there! Ahhh tears of joy. (': Hard work paid off. Good luck everyone!
