I've been talking to a few other people who have applied to the program, and none of them had to do what is being requested for this cohort. It's interesting. What is everybody preparing to submit? Resume, cover, anything else?

Does anyone know what units typically are open for Sharp New Grads?

It depends on the staffing needs of the hospitals. Usually I've seen all units available except ICU environments. The ICU may open up after the nurse has completed their rotation through the new grad program. I have not seen new grad openings in the OR or PACU.

You're welcome. I should clarify that the usual New Grad positions are for Med-Surg/PCU rotations or unit-based-only rotations such as PCU, L&D or ER. After you complete the rotation, the positions are more varied for a unit. You normally still need to apply for a position after the rotation ends.

Does that make sense? I haven't had my daily dose of coffee yet. :)

So once you finish your rotation in an unit (such as L&D) then you would have to apply to work there after you finish the rotation?

How would one go about applying to the ICU? Should I register for PCU, since it'll give me a better shot? Thanks!
