SFSU Fall 2012

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone!

Is anyone applying to San Francisco State's program for fall 2012? I haven't seen any threads on it... Just wondering since apps are due in a few weeks!

Hi Spiffyness. I sent mine registered mail. There was no number to fax on my waitlist form.

I'm wondering if I should call the office to make sure they received my response form. I don't have a fax machine so I had to go to office depot to do it. Kinda sketchy? Does anyone know if they will give us some sort of verification that they received it? Like an update on gateway or anything like that?

I might end up sending it by mail too. I don't have a fax machine

Lol. Don't worry Office Depot is legit. You can try to e-mail them to confirm they got it. Just make sure you keep your confirmation page you got while faxing it because that's proof that you actually sent it on so-and-so date.

Office Depot has a fax machine you can use? I shall do that tomorrow :)

Office Depot/Office Max/Staples... or you can sign up for a fax service online. You choose your own fax number (that's available) and you can send faxes/receive them through e-mail. You would have to upload/scan your documents in order to fax them. I've used this service before and it worked well for me but cancelled it because it was not worth the monthly cost (which wasn't too much). It wasn't like I was sending faxes all the time, that's why. But you can cancel after a month and get that month's service for free if you don't plan on keeping it.

@ms.chia: my status was the same as yours---but on changed on friday, and i was able to accept my admission into sfsu. my major is now listed under "health education".once you accept offer, there are more things for you to read and accept. once i accepted, my financial aid package changed again. hope this was helpful. let me know if you're attending---maybe we can meet up! positive thoughts for all of us wait listers!

i choose bio (microbio concentration) as my alternate major... now my status reads

"we have received the documents you submitted. we are currently evaluating your application. please do not submit any additional documents at this time."

grrrr now i'm nervous! oy vey...

Did you guys receive any verification from them? I haven't heard from them...

Congratulations on those of you who were accepted!! I remember when I was in your shoes and very anxious, not knowing what to expect. I am finishing up my first semester so if any of you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as best I can.

@Iamgonnabeanurse- I called to verify. They said they will send out e-mails but she told me that my form got there anyway.

@ Bzepeda- I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin :/ How were/are your classes this semester? Is there any way you can schedule your classes just MON-THURS?

@Bzepeda, I am on the waitlist, but trying to anticipate what the first year will look like.

I have a wonderful and flexible job at UCSF. I work around 20 hours a week. Do you think it is possible/advisable to keep working while in nursing school? How often does your schedule change? Are there predictable mornings or afternoons off?

Thank you for offering advice. I really, really appreciate it!

Many of my classmates have been able to continue to work while in the program and have been able to keep up.....I guess this would depend on your level of commitment. It is definitely doable. Your schedule will not change, unless something drastic occurs, as was in my case where our clinical day was changed half way into the semester and we had no say...but it was due to our instructor getting injured and was not able to continue. School of Nursing changed our day but we were able to continue at the same hospital....they later changed it back again!!

As far as the schedule, you can look at the class schedule right now and you will know what it will be like. The only class you won't know is your clinical because that will depend on who gets what.
