Scripps new grad program summer 2013

U.S.A. California

Thought I would post another thread on here for the scripps new grad program starting this summer as applications are open for internals and soon will open for externals. I myself am an internal, applied Monday, and have an interview already set for May 7th... Good luck to all!!!

Oh I see. I applied on Monday as well. But for the external candidates. I hope they considered me as I did almost all my clinical rotation there including my preceptorship. Do you know what managers are interviewing you??

I heard that Scripps is really big on applicants having employee referrals. Did any of you that got interviews or anything have referrals? Just curious!

No, I have no idea who will be interviewing me but somebody from La Jolla for sure. I didn't even got a chance to see or meet the manager of La Jolla 7W the last time I worked there. I just have to be prepared and bring out the best of me.

I know this an an old post but I am also out of state (~3,000 miles away from SD) so am seeking some advice from you db2xs! Would you mind sharing if you had any certifications prior to applying (BLS, ACLS, etc.)?

Thank you for your help!

I am going to say that I am just absolutely shocked that I too received an email for an interview! This is nuts. I am going to school out of state (as in 3,000 miles away out of state) but I will come anyway.

I feel nervous, as I just got turned down by another hospital that I just interviewed at last week. Does anyone know what this four-person interview will be like? Any input would be gratefully appreciated, thank you!

Relax, be yourself, and don't rush! My friend applied from Chicago and was hired, she just flew in and got a hotel room near the interview location. If you can afford it I would rent a car, she had a difficult time with using a cab service.

Each person you interview with may be from a different unit, so make sure you ask them about their particular units! I like that they do the panel interview because you might not be a good fit or "click" with one interviewer, but you still have a couple of other interviewers to connect with. Don't bring a ton of resumes, they have about about a million pieces of paper on that table! I recommend making a professional portfolio and let them know you brought it, what is in there, and that they're welcome to take a look.

I also recommend arriving fairly early and being flexible on the day of your interview... The day I interviewed they were running about an hour ahead of schedule and were calling people to see if they could come in early.

Best of luck!

I know this is a old post, but I have an interview for Scripps DEU this wed and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what questions they ask. I graduated 1yr ago and it is finally my first new grad interview. This was my last chance of being called for an interview and I was (YAY!) but I don't want to miss this opportunity. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
