Hi all,

Applications are due just around the corner, and I was just wondering if anyone else has started the application process yet.

It would be good to hear back from others who are going through the same process!

P.S. And yes, Tiffany said it well: they've called you in for an interview for good reason, so keeping that in mind, maybe it'll help your nerves? : )

And good luck in the interview! Go kick some butt!:yeah:

Thanks Kzimmerman. :) are yuo applying to teh case managment track or teh NP track? Less people apply to teh CM trck so teh chances are much higher.

Hi Sahar5,

I'm actually applying to both. My primary choice is CM, and yes, it seems like odds are much better when you look at applicants vs. accepted in the ELMSN packet. Also, the reason why I think I would be "picked" for CM is that my skill set in my previous career is much more complimentary (High-level project management and account management).

We'll see, though! I'm excited and anxious!

Sahar,

I have looked into the 2 year RN programs around my area. For them, you have they all have a waiting list. From what I hear you basically have to have straight A's and have to do extremely well on the TEAS test to get accepted right away. It's some stiff competition. I have all A's and B's, and I would hope to get accepted right away but what if I dont? I havent seen any schools around here that offer the 2 year program that doesnt have an extensive waiting list

Hello everyone! Congrats to BlueEyedGuy and Sahar5 :) I'll be at the Feb15th interview too! I'm really excited but also nervous and don't know what to really expect. I know it will probably be a group interview though. Did you guys get word about the specifics of the interview? Like which room we're supposed to go to, and which time slot we are confirmed to have? I chose the 11:30 time slot, but haven't heard back regarding the details yet..

CONGRATS TEGGS. i havenet recieved any info packets yet. I am sooooo nervous

Congratulations Teggs on the interview!

@KellyJo - finding a nursing program w/out a waitlist are few and far in between. Best bet in avoiding a waitlist is to look into private colleges. I know it's a lot of $$$!! The reason why I applied to SMU is because I just don't want to wait any longer, and I want to get going on my career, so that's the trade-off I guess. Many of the CCs I looked into have a lottery system, so even if you have the best grades of all the applicants, you're basically left at chance and luck. Do you have a Bachelors yet? Most of my research has been on post-bac programs so I'm not too sure about applying to RN programs w/out a Bachelors, so don't take my word for it! Another option would be to do a bridges track? Maybe go for an LVN first and then doing an LVN-RN option? That way you can work and gain experience as an LVN first.

Hi Sahar! Gosh..I'm sooo nervous too. Hopefully we hear from SMU about the details of our interview soon. It's in a week! I still can't believe it's coming up so fast

But on the upside, we won't be worrying about it much longer ;)

Stifffunny - Yeah, I totally understand. A friend of mine enrolled in the lottery system at City College of San Francisco for the RN program..she waited 5 years. Half a decade is wayy too long to wait :(

@Teggs - WOW! That's horrible! I don't think I'd have the patience to wait that long! CRAZY! :sstrs:
