Sacramento State Spring 2016 Application

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this website and I'm planning on applying for Spring 2016. I know we still have a couple months before the application opens but I'm anxious! I've been looking forward to applying and can't wait to get going. Anyone else applying for next spring?

Thanks!

Hi! I am also applying for Spring, 2016. I'm a little nervous about my points because the original fall cutoff was 79 points. I will be applying with 80 points, so I hope that is enough!

Hello! Thanks for responding. :D I know what you mean about the points cutoff. I wasn't thinking it was going to jump that high from spring to fall. I'm applying with 89 points. The good thing about the spring semester is there tends to be less applications. 80 points is great! Have you already finished your pre-req's? I'm taking BIO 131 and Stats this fall.

I was also shocked at the jump in the point cutoff. However, I went to the information session last month and at that point the cutoff was down to 75 points. I've heard that it has dropped since then, but we won't really know what the final cutoff will be until the fall semester starts. That's great that you have 89 points! I feel like I am just teetering on the bubble with my 80, so I will be anxious until we hear the spring cutoff. I have actually finished all of my pre-req's, but I am taking chemistry again so that I can raise my B to an A. All of my other pre-req's are A's so with that class in-progress I can apply with a 4.0 GPA. I will also be taking pharmacology just to get a head start. I loved physio. I actually wish I would have waited to take that class because I know I will have to brush up on it prior to starting the nursing program. You will have it all fresh in your mind for that first semester!

Glad to hear that the points cutoff was lower than anticipated. Good luck with Chem! I've already taken physio but it was at an out of state college and didn't include a lab. But, I think I remember enough to do well. :D Stats is the one I'm worried about so I'm glad that it will be in progress.

I feel like I've been waiting to apply for so long that I'm going to miss some crucial component and mess it up, even though I've checked & re-checked everything more times than I can count.

Hi everyone!

I'm also applying to Sacramento State for spring 2016! I'll be applying with 89 points. Good luck to everyone!

Hi Zygo!

That's great that you will have 89 points! I was feeling pretty good with my 80 but now I'm starting to feel a little unsure. I am considering taking the TEAS to try to get a higher score. I got an 88% the last time but I also rushed out of fear of running out of time. I ended up making simple mistakes that I know I could have avoided. I guess I have a few days to decide. If I decide to just apply with my current score I will probably deliver my application sometime this week.

Anyway, good luck! Hopefully we all make it!

Good luck with your stats! I know what you mean about feeling like you will miss some crucial component. Someone gave me some great advice-make a copy of you application before turning it in. Although that should be one of those obvious things, it is also one of those things that one may overlook. Having a copy on-hand whenever you start to question whether or not you filled in a box correctly can save you from a lot of anxiety.

We are just a few days away from the application period! I'm sure you will be just fine, but good luck!

Hi everybody!

I am taking my TEAS this month, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback from those of you who have already taken it. I am averaging 90% on the practice tests in the TEAS study manual as well as the McGraw Hill practice tests, but my score for the online practice exam was only 77% (about a month ago). How did your scores from the TEAS manual compare to your actual exam scores? I am just wondering if I am prepared enough yet.

I did better on the practice exams as well. When I took the actual TEAS I found that the online practice exam was very similar to the actual test. However, I scored much better on the TEAS. I believe I was averaging 79% on the online practice exam and I ended up getting an 88% on the TEAS.

Also-I know I could have done better on the TEAS if I didn't rush through parts of it. The best tip I can give is to be aware of your time, but don't rush yourself. Getting just one or two questions wrong due to rushing can make a huge difference in your overall score so don't overlook anything. Good luck!!

Thank you Jl0202! I am still studying the problem areas that were listed on the first practice test. I will take the second practice test this weekend. Hopefully I can bring that score up to 85% or higher. Then maybe I will get a 90% or higher on the actual test.

I am also applying for spring 2016. Does anybody know if I can use my unofficial GED transcripts or do they need to be official?
