Sac State (CSUS) Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. California

Hey guys! Who's applying for Fall 2012?

i live in Fairfield, so i think ill be commuting from here.

TY Xaireel, I will update here if anything changes but Ill be content to wait another semester if I need to, after 4 years on prereqs Im a little burnt out anyways and could use a semester off to recharge. If I get the offer I will NOT refuse it only because I don't want to tempt fate, however I have a baby and Im not really ready to leave him with a daycare center my heart aches when I think about it. I was a little relieved that I didn't get admitted yet, I will still accept if I am offered a position. Im seeing a silver lining in this though. The other option is to take those 3 required sac state classes in the Fall before starting the nursing program.

Congrats to you Stephanee and thanks for the kind words of encouragement!

Hi guys! Congrats to those who are admitted into the program. I am a little confused. It says that the person standing at #75 has 69 points, and #80 at 68 points. I have 69 points, but I am alternate #7. I hope I will eventually be admitted. I emailed ------- and she kind of explained it to me but I am still anxious and worried at the same time. Do you think I have a good chance? I am admitted at a community college but plan to decline.

Suka I am confident you will get in. Me and another are already giving up our spots so you are down to #5 already

Hi! If you don't mind may I ask is Sac State your second choice? It's my first. Well, I only applied to two schools. Do you know when is the deadline that candidates are required to submit accept/decline decisions?

The deadline to reply is Monday May 7, 2012. But I am mailing mine tomorrow. CSU Sac was in my top 3 choices. I applied to CSULB, CSULA, CSUS, SDSU, SFSU, and CSUSB (won't hear back from then until July, so not considering it at all). My top 3 choices were CSULB, SDSU, and CSUS. I didn't get into SDSU cause I wasn't admitted to the University, so down to CSULB and CSUS. Ive been attending CSULB for 3 years and live 25-30 min away, so I commute. I actually wanted to move out for nursing school and go to Sacramento cause it was a 2 year program, whereas CSULB is either 3 year (without class in summer) or 2 year (with class in the summer). But I think that it is just too far for me and both schools have really high NCLEX pass rates. I chose to go to CSULB to be at home with family and friends, and I have never been to Sacramento so to accept to go there I dont know if I would be happy. I'd also save a lot from housing since I can live at home :)

I see. Thanks for the reply. I hope that you will have a wonderful time at CSULB. I hope that they will notify the alternates soon after May 7th because I have to submit my decision to the other school by May 4th. I guess being alternate #7 is not so bad. Now I'm leaving it up the fate ;)

Spiffyness, Congrats on acceptance to so many schools!!! Best of wishes to you!!Suka, I believe you will not have any issue getting into the program. If the two girls decline admission and there were not any mistakes made when the nursing school reviewed our applications then that opens up seven positions!! You should probably start preparing for you admission letter because it will come:)

I hope so! I dont want to decline the other school if I am not going to be admitted to sac state. Scared, excited, hopeful, anxious...grrrr....For those who were accepted, did you receive information packets for the list of things to do and deadlines?

Suka, yes we did receive a list of things to do. There are a few documents we must submit by may 7th and there is a mandatory orientation august 22. Have you contacted the school you were admitted to see if you could decline after the may 1st deadline if you are accepted into sac state's program?

For those of you that are currently or were previously in the BSN program at sac state can you tell me when is the best time (during which semester) to take my two upper division courses? I want to take one during my first semester but am not sure if that is a good idea. Also which upper division courses would you recommend??Any suggestions....comments please??Thanks in advance:)

Oh stephenee, I was going to ask the same thing. :)
