Regionally Accredited LVN Schools

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi, I have been looking at schools like American Career College but have noticed that they are not regionally accredited. I eventually want to get my BSN so I don't want to waste my time and money on a school that will not help me reach that goal. Can any one suggest an LVN school that is regionally accredited and does not require any prerequisites. Some where in the Anaheim Area, or close to that area.

Thank You

You are not going to find WASC accreditation with no prerequisites, these schools all have similar standards, and will require such prereqs. I did my LVN at Concorde, but because I did all my gen Ed at community college and stat university, I was able to advance in a bachelors program because they fave me credit for the LVN not for the units if that makes sense. Still doesn't really save you time to if your thinking of fast tracking. It's the general education that always seems to take the most time.

Thank You for your help!

I went to an adult school and it was WASC accredited and did not require pre-reqs. I chose to go the LVN route first specifically because I didn't need pre-reqs yet. I took my nursing pre-reqs for RN school while working as an LVN already.

What school did you attended for your LVN? Thank You!

Although, fewer and fewer in number over the years, it is more convenient to attend an LVN program that is at a community college. You will find that you're usually killing two birds with one stone because the classes are college credit courses. Another benefit is that it usually makes for easier entry into a corresponding RN program.

Thank you! I received your message but it won't let me reply. Both schools you recommend are very close to where I live. After you attended that school where did you apply for your RN? Thank you so much!! I truly appreciate your help. Thank You!
