  1. Thank you!
  2. I have never experienced survey before and even though I seem calm I am freaking out inside! I am a Tx nurse at a long term care facility. I basically learned everything about being a Tx nurse by myself. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE being a Tx nurse I just wish I was trained properly. I would love any tips and suggestions that would help me get through my first survey! Thanks in advance!!
  3. Hi! Thank you! My ultimate goal is to someday work at a wound care center, right now I am trying to gain all the experience I can and even though this is tough I absolutely LOVE it! Thank you for responding, truly appreciate it.
  4. Hi, I am a new treatment nurse of about 5 months and I am struggling with how to document properly. I know documentation in wound care is extremely important and I would love some advice from experience wound care nurses! Any good books, websites etc. Thank you!!
  5. I am a new LVN and now a soon to be treatment nurse for the facility I just started working with about a month ago. I will be attending the SWOC Certification Course with Skilled Wound Care and The College of Long Term Care this coming weekend and will obtain a certification. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Can anyone recommend any good books, websites, youtube videos to watch? I am determined to be a great treatment nurse but I do not have any experience, so this makes me very nervous. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you :)
  6. :) It's really 8 years of experience as a CNA but no experience as an LVN :) And thank you about telling me about changing my name!! Didn't realize I had my full name as my username :/ Great! Thank you so much. I know every facility is different and everyone's experience is different I just want a general idea of a "typical" day. Thank you for your response and advice! Truly appreciate it :)
  7. Any advice, tips, things I should bring with me to work would be greatly appreciated. I start as a full time LVN in a long term care facility this Monday from 7 am to 3:30pm. I just want to know what I should expect. I know I will be caring for 30-40 residents, passing meds, gtubes, foleys but I just want to know what to expect. Would love to hear how you start your shift and any good advice or tips. I am so excited to learn and so nervous and scared at the same time. I really just want to do well and know what I should concentrate on as far as getting prepared and reading up on skills. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you!!
  8. I am a new LVN and feel very overwhelmed and "stupid" too I finished my first week on the job last week and just felt like I really didn't know anything! It's been about 5 years since you posted this so I just wanted to know how are you doing now?
  9. Hi just wanted to thank you again for all of your help! I am graduating from Downey Adult schools LVN program this May :) You really helped me out a lot. Thank You!!
  10. Hi. I am planning on going in this week to start applying for the LVN Program. How o you like the program? Any advice on getting in the program and staying in the program? Thank You :)
  11. Thank You soo much for your help!! I was feeling lost and confused and you really helped me out a lot! Thank You :) I am going to apply at Hacienda La Puente! Thanks Again!!
  12. Thank you! I received your message but it won't let me reply. Both schools you recommend are very close to where I live. After you attended that school where did you apply for your RN? Thank you so much!! I truly appreciate your help. Thank You!
  13. Hello, I am interested to know if it matters whether the school you attends is regionally or nationally accredited. I have gone to the BVNPT site that lists accredited VN programs but a lot of them are not regionally accredited. I know it is important that a school is regionally accredited if you plan on furthering your education to BSN and beyond but when applying for a job does this matter? I thought it just matter is if you have a state license but I am getting mixed reviews. Right now I am a CNA and have been one for 5 years. I have taken some pre reqs but none that really matter like science classes. I am not able to attend school full time so I want to do the lvn route and then bridge to a BSN Program. Please Help!! I really want to start a program soon but am afraid to pick the wrong school. I live in California and would love to find a program in the LA/OC area. Thanks
  14. I am looking into LVN Programs in the L.A/OC area. Which school did you attended for your LVN? I am trying to find a LVN school who's credits will transfer to a BSN Program. Al ot of the LVN Programs are not Regionally Accredited so I am not sure if the BSN Bridge Programs will accept the LVN Program.
  15. What school did you attended for your LVN? Thank You!
