New LVN needs a job in Southern CA

U.S.A. California

hello everyone! havent posted since i was in school and im glad to say that i passed my boards in april! yay! but now im realizing that finding a job in an actual hospital as a new VN is like finding a golden needle in a haystack! im feeling pretty hopless right now so i figured i would ask you all and see if anyone works at or knows of a hospital that hires new LVNs in the riverside, elsinore, corona areas. any help with this would be great because i REALLY dont want to be a waitress anymore....lol...

Thanks in advance!

I have tried Nursing Homes with no luck either.

Im currently a freshmen in college and am trying to figure out which route to take either LVN first or straight to ADN? I am thinking of getting my LVN first so I could hopefully work and get experience but after reading all these messages I'm not to sure anymore because it seems extremly difficult to find a job. I live in San Diego not to far from the downtown SD area. Anyone have any recommendations? and if I were to get my ADN instead would there be a better chance of getting hired straight out of college? any info would greatly help Thanks!

Hi, maybe you could volunteer at a nursing home or in a peds sub acute and if you like it then yes I suggest becoming an LVN first. If you don't enjoy working in those settings go straight for your RN.

If you have a job that can support you when going to school i would do the straight ADN......I went the LVN route and it is impossible to get a job as an LVN if it wasnt for my uncle knowing a few people i still would be unemployed....Even new RNs are having a tough time but the are still gettin hired as new grads from what ive seen with friends.....
