hey everyone. just wondering if anyone from the area had experienced the new grad training programs in kaiser, stanford, lucille, vapa, or any other hospitals, and how the experience was at the hospital. i am currently job hunting, so i just wanted to hear your ideas and opinions, so i can decide on the best program. thanks.

Thanks. I have that info already. I was looking to talk to someone who was actually in the program or had graduated from the UCSF or Stanford new grad program. (I'd like to know how they liked it, their experiences, things they wished they had known before hand, etc.). Thank you.

I'm in the new grad program at Stanford and I'm loving it! Our batch is the first one to start with the RN Residency program and it offers us UHC classes year round, where we get ongoing support. We had classroom training for 2-3 weeks (depending on your unit). You get ur own preceptor for another 6-10 weeks. Stanford is a great place to work --- great teamwork, new technology, excellent benefits! We are also in the process of applying for Magnet status. We also do electronic charting so bye bye to lots of papers! I would definitely recommend Stanford to new grads!

It was mentioned on their site that they are only accepting 2008 and 2009 graduates. Do they consider 2007 and earlier?

No, I think they only consider applicants who graduated within the last year: "RN graduate between June 1st, 2008 and May 31st, 2009"

how sad. I dont really know where would i be qualified. I cant join the new grad program coz u have to be 2008/2009 graduate. i cant even apply for RN II positions coz they require 1 yr US experience which I have none. i wonder what position should i be applying for.
