Just reaching out to other fellow nursing students who applied for this coming Fall 2011 ABSN program at Mount Saint Mary's (Los Angeles)...I completed my application a few weeks ago.

I've also applied for fall 2011. Since their application deadline for fall is so late (March 15th) I wonder when we will be contacted for interviews. Do you have any idea about this?

hey psych so glad to hear from another applicant... based on historic threads regarding fall application for mt st. mary's it sounded like many students didnt hear back until may and june. I guess once the 15th of march is up, the admissions will filter applicants and begin the interview process. unsure about time frame but im keeping my fingers crossed to hear back. i believe they post acceptance information on webadvisor but unsure if that changed or not. where abouts did you complete your pre-reqs? thanks for reaching out:yeah:

I took most of my pre-reqs at CSULB while I was completing my BA. Then I also took Anatomy at Golden West College, and I'm currently completing Nutrition at Saddleback. I'm hoping having nutrition in progress won't hinder me to much... What about you?

sounds like your almost done with all of your pre-reqs...congrats. i completed the last of my religious studies requirements last semester and now waiting. i guess alot of past/current students also completed BIOETHICS before starting the program rather than taking it during the program, so i have high hopes to knock it out over the summer once we hear back from MSM. who are you taking nutrition with over at saddleback? sounds like you have all of your major science pre-reqs done and over with which leaves room to breathe with nutrition...don't think it'll be an issue.

hey Giulia...thanks for the congrat...hope eveything pans out. how did your cousin like the program? i've been on campus and i must say, a very delightful, and spacious campus. very pristine even though its down the street from USC.

I just got accepted for the May cohort. The deadline for the application was November 1st and I got my notification for an interview in the beginning of January. Based on this, I'm guessing you should start hearing back around May, however the school was closed for the holidays so you might hear even sooner since you don't lose those 1-2 weeks. They did a lot of the rejections very early on, like a month after the deadline. The longer you don't hear from them the better. :)

Oh and I forgot to mention, yes they update webadvisor before they notify you by mail (regarding rejection or acceptance, interview is via email) so make sure to check it frequently. Psych to Nurse, I wouldn't worry about the nutrition. I had 2 courses in progress, a religious studies and anatomy. I submitted a progress report from my professors saying I was currently getting an A, so maybe that helped.

FisherKing - I have Lori Hoolihan for nutrition. Congrats on being done with all your pre-reqs, that's great!

Thank you guys for your vote of confidence that having one IP course will not be a huge problem for admissions. I've applied to 7 post bacc nursing programs and also some ADN programs, so hopfully I will be going somewhere in the fall.

Congrats to you xluescluesx for being accepted all ready. I've seen you on some other threads. Are you definitely going to MSMC or are you waiting to hear from other schools before you make your decision?

I already gave my deposit but I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools. MSMC got back to me the fastest. This school is in my top 2 choices. I love that it's such a short program and it has a good reputation. Unfortunately I have to keep my options open until my financial aid is all figured out. It's hard to get federal loans and grants for a second BA and I'm a little worried about it since it's so expensive!!!

Oh yah, I can imagine. I'm a little concerned about the cost as well but I figured I would cross that bridge if I'm actually accepted. Are you willing to take out private loans?
