Published

Hey everyone,

is anyone applying for March 2012 RN residency program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles??

Hi again,

I was wondering if anyone knew how many people they usually hire? Are any of you internal? I am external, and have read previous posts about CHLA hiring a lot of internals. That's all for now! Take care guys :)

Hello everyone

did you guys have your references mail the letter of recommendations themselves or are you guys mailing it yourself? i feel bad that i only gave my references 2 weeks to write them :(

sdnewgradnurse: i read from other posts that CHLA hire about 45 applicants. i am also external ~

Hi savexpigoo! Thanks for the info :) I actually already my letters of recommendation, so I just submitted them along with my packet last week.

Do any of you guys know where exactly the HR office at Children's is? :)

It's in the bldg on the 1st floor across the street from the hospital

I almost have my packet done. I'm just waiting for one of my reference letters to come in on letterhead! :/ I wish I could turn it in in person, but I can't really make the 5 hour drive (not including LA's terrible traffic)...

Does anyone know about the time they call back for interviews?

tashacorinne: i got this from CHLA site; hope this answers your question

Interview Process:

After you submit your packet to the Human Resources Department, it will be reviewed by the RN Residency committee. If you are selected for an interview, a Nurse Recruiter will contact you.

Interviews will be scheduled beginning the week after the application deadline. BSN and a GPA of 3.0 are preferred. The number of positions in the program are limited.

Hi again,

From what I read in previous cohorts it seems like they call after the deadline to submit packets. So, once they've received all applicants materials I think they start making calls, and from an older forum it looked like they started calling a month after the application was posted. I tried calling yesterday and today asking when they would make calls, but got the machine. If I find out more I'll post.

A month wait sounds about normal, other new grad programs seem to be about the same. I wish someone would pick up the phone though, but I'm sure they get tons of calls and just ignore them. I wish I could snag the name of the nurse recruiter.

They'll start to interview mid-October, I was not given a specific date. They also extended an invitation fir their open house early october.
