Los Medanos for Fall 2011?

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello all, is anybody applying to Los Medanos CC for fall 2011. I just sent in my application with my fingers crossed:up:

Specializes in Surgery/ASC/Urgent Care.

LMC has a great reputation at the hospitals. I have heard from friends who work at John Muir, the LMC student nurses are among the best trained, and they welcome them each year. Merritt has continued problems with accreditation, which I have heard for years. That is very disturbing how they appear to treat their students.

Christine 2009...what fundamentals book did you use for Merritt?

I recently went into Merritt's office to drop off my nursing app, and I was disappointed at the lack of professional behavior I witnessed in that one minute I was there. I actually went online later that day to learn if they had a reputation, so it was kind of saddening to see that they do not have a great one. It's located in such a nice location after all! I spoke with a nursing student from CCC who told me more about Merritt's reputation, and she flat out said I should not have applied - and I know she is the type of student who would never discourage a program just for "being hard." Nursing school is hard, in general, no matter where you go! So, I'm kind of bummed to learn of this. But better to know, right? Keeping my fingers crossed for acceptance elsewhere ;)

I know what you mean. I am not sure what I will do if it is the only place I get into. I would hate to put my goal on hold for another year.

Hey everybody! How are you passing the time waiting? As for me, I am on winter break right now and I am planning for our annual Disneyworld trip for the end of August but if I am accepted, I will definitely cancel it or go earlier.

I remember when I was taking anatomy at CCC, there were 2 students that transferred from Merritt to CCC's nursing program. They said it was horrible:eek:

Hello. I am taking some Spanish classes and a history class to pass the time. Oooh Disneyworld? That sounds like so much fun! I want to go somewhere for my Spring break, but I don't want to leave my mailbox for very long, haha.

Hello everyone! Has anyone taken the TEAS? I think I am going to start studying for it.

i have. i bought the official study guide from ATI, and it was super helpful, so that's what i would recommend

Specializes in Surgery/ASC/Urgent Care.

I took it last June as well. The official study guide was a great practice tool. The test is really pretty easy if you know your basics. If you take it at LMC the nice part is you get your results on the spot ! Good luck

I have already taken it too. I used the study guide and purchased the online practice tests and both were very helpful.

hey, hijadecalifas -

you are applying to lmc, too, i see! makes since if you live near ccc! best of luck :)
