I just found out tonight I'm starting this August!! I swear it feels like a dream; I never thought I would get in. There are about 500 names for 44 spots and it's done by lottery. This is my first time applying and I GOT IN!! I've never won anything in my life and this totally makes up for it~lol.

I was accepted for the 2010 class. Due to unforeseen circumstances, had to request a deferment from ----. It was granted and that gave me a guaranteed spot for 2011.

I was really disappointed when I had to defer, it took me 4 years of applying!

Good luck to you!

Would love to hear how you all did your first year. Do you know if there are any changes being made to the incoming 2011 class. I followed the post from the start and you all must be pretty busy as the post stopped. I know your finals are coming up, good luck everyone!

I may be the only one who still posts here ;) We had our last regular test today and then all three finals next week. There's actually quite a few changes; the director is now gone, some amazing teachers are leaving/being laid off (due to budget cuts), as well as the class sizes being cut. The incoming class will only have 30 instead of 44 and our class will only go to 40 instead of the usual 55. Up to this point, we have lost 14 of the original 44 people; if that is the new trend, your class will lose half the class the first year! I think you are aware, we are the first class to have to pass with a 75% average, before it was 70%. That has been the reason we have lost so many. You must be so excited to start in the Fall! Enjoy your summer break, you are in for a crazy journey ;)

Wow, I had not heard about that many changes. I had spoken to ---- at length yesterday, she mentioned alot of the cutbacks are really affecting the program. She stated they had cut alot of staff in general, even cutting her back to 11 out of 12 months. She also stated she was possibly retiring in December but they had asked her to say. She did not mentioned the director leaving. Is that ------? I am even more shocked they reduced the numbers for the incoming classes. Pretty sad at what is being done. Good luck with your finals next week. Hope to meet you in August (or whenever they have the meet and greet)

I have followed your posts since last year. Your a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate it!

Again, good luck with your last 3 finals.

By the way, my name is Denise.

Thanks again!:nurse:

I knew there was going to be cuts to the staff and class size,; especially since LMC sister college, CCC, only accepted 23 students this year:eek: These budget cuts are really hurting the colleges and universities.
