Los Angeles County College of Nursing & Allied Health Spring 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. California

Hello! I decided to open up this new thread for those applying for Spring 2014 entry at LA County College of Nursing. I recently took my TEAS for the first time, and I'm so relieved that it is over! Now the wait... A bit nervous about the whole process, but I am very hopeful. Anyway, just wondering who else out there has applied!

Hi! I applied too! The wait is what really makes this whole process agonizing. I find myself checking my email & mail everyday in hopes to hear any news back. Good luck to everyone applying for Spring 2014.

Hello @goldenheart10! Great to hear that you are applying here too! :) And yes, good luck to all! :)

What other schools have you applied to and what is your first choice, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for making this thread! Hope more people can join so we can all continue to support one another through this pursuit towards a rewarding career.

I've applied to LACC, LAVC, LAPC, LASC, LA Trade Tech, GCC, PCC, COC, and CSULB. I know it's a lot, but I just want to increase my chances especially since most of these programs are lottery based. Where have you applied?

Oh I am sure you will get in somewhere. It's smart of you to apply to many schools as it will increase your chances of getting in.

As for me, well I hadn't anticipated applying for Spring 2014 entry (I was going to wait for Fall 2014), but at the last minute I changed my mind. But with that being said, I only applied to 4 schools: County, Moorpark, PCC & LACC. Hopefully I'll get into at least one of those...if not, I do have a "Plan B" set aside. :)

Out of all the schools that you applied to, what is your first choice?

Hello! I'm also applying to LA County for the Spring 2014 entry. I also applied to LACC and LAVC. I just got my teas v score today and barely made the 75% score... enough to get the full 20 points. Currently, I have 80 or 81 points. My first choice of school is LA county. I'm hoping I have enough to accepted :(

Congrats on getting the 20 pts needed for County! County is also my first choice. I recently took the TEAS and got the extra points needed as well. Currently, I have 87 points. One of my good friends got into County with 80 points (she's now in her second semester). When I went to the info session last August, I was told that the cut-off for the previous semester was 78. So hopefully we can all get in!

Hi jdc2013! Wow, 87 points is more than enough. I'm 100% sure you'll be accepted to county. When you say last August, do you mean August 2012 or 2013? If the cut-off score was 78 then I would feel much more relaxed about my total points. I really hope for the best!

Thanks @shk69816! You are too kind. But, you never know if there is some kind of clerical error...I won't feel 100% sure until I actually receive an acceptance letter in the mail. :) I went to the info session last August 2013 and when someone asked what the cut-off has been like in the most recent past, the reply was "78." So yes, please be hopeful! :)

@jdc2013 thanks for the info. I will keep my fingers crossed!

No problem! We are in this together! :)

Just checking in to say "hello!" Any other LA County applicants out there? Waiting until November for an acceptance or a rejection is a bit daunting to say the least! Crossing my fingers for us all!
