Thank you! I have not been able to access my transcripts from Rio Hondo so I am not sure how many points I am applying with. I know I got all B's in the Science classes: Physio, Anatomy and Micro. I got A's in English 101, Sociology, and U.S. History, but don't remember about Psychology, Speech and Humanities. Then I am hoping to get an extra point because I will be graduating as an LVN on May 18th, and have accumulated over 700 hrs. of clinical practices (direct patient care within the last five years). What do you think?

I think you'll be all right... The average science GPA is about 3.0 anyway...And you have the general Ed classes and a great score on the teas and healthcare experience...Sounds like you have a competitive application. I mean I had a As on sciences, English, psych and a b in one general Ed class, and you beat me on the teas! Some of my transcripts arrived late too (she said a lot of people sent in the transcripts late) so idk what they are going to do with my application... It sounds really competitive, and I'd be really happy to get into a school with so many smart people!

I hope there are more LVN applicants than the generic. I read someone saying that, which gives me hope for me to get into the generic program. I have no idea how many points I have. I just applied and hope for the best lol

County is my last option though because I live in the valley and it's quite a drive for me due to traffic. I really want to get into either COC, LAPC, or Pasadena

County is my first choice, I didn't apply to any other programs... Pierce is a really good program, I've heard good things about it....PCC has a kinda shaky nclex pass rate, surprisingly...

I heard county will give you a job after you graduate? Dunno if that's true but that would certainly help. I wanted to get my cna certification this summer. I heard at county you can work as a student nurse if you have it?

I hope more LVNs applied than generics. I'll take every advantage I can get.

I have a friend who graduated from Pierce and was able to make very good connections there. In fact, he just accepted a new grad position 3 months post grad. As for me, I applied for County too. I have 83 points with Lifespan psychology in progress this Spring.

Yeah, county is my first preference but I'd take anything. There's lots of people who can't get into any program and they have really good grades..There's also lots of people who can't even pass their prerequisites or the teas..I'm grateful for acceptance into any program..

I didn't know the average science GPA is 3.0, thanks for the info, that gives me a little more hope for my application. You have all As in your science classes? Wow! I'm impressed! I almost got A's in Anatomy and Micro, but I lost them at the end when I took my finals. I took them both in the same semester PLUS took Psychology online. Not to mention I was working full-time. Not making excuses, just saying that it was a mistake (obviously). I should've taken it easy, but oh well, I am glad I got the prerequisites done and now I am ready to start applying into the program. Yes! My transcripts from ELAC arrived late too! I am glad I only took ONE class with them. The rest of my classes I took them at Rio Hondo and those transcripts arrived on time. I can't wait for May to know if we all made it in! How exciting!

When I took the ATI TEAS, there were more applicants to the LVN-RN bridge program than the genetic taking it with me. I too hope that is true for the total amount of applicants so that we get a better chance to make it in. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I know. Wow, I couldn't even work part time when I took my classes. I did in the beginning but it was too much.. Hopefully we'll all get in. I heard the admission lady say that the chances are quite good because many of the applications are incomplete and some of the students will choose to go to other schools.

That is great news! Thank you for mentioning that. I had to work full time while taking prerequisites. It was definitely tough, but I managed A's in Anatomy and Physiology and a B in micro. Got A's in all the other prerequisites but they were much easier in comparison.

If I get accepted, I plan on picking up books like nursing pharmacology earlier in order to ease the course a little.

May is around the corner but the suspense is killing me :)
