Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Yes, I've heard that some students do choose to go to other schools and decline the acceptance to County. Does anyone know if we are getting interviewed? I still keep in touch with one of my classmates from ELAC; she told me that when she applied last year, she was interviewed. She was hopeful that she'd make it in, but says that no one contacted her after the interview.

Wow, I've never heard of that before...That's interesting...i didn't know they interview people. What kind of questions did they ask? she was denied admission after the interview? I wonder how many points she had.

As far as I know, no ADN program in SoCal require an interview. Maybe your friend is talking about the pre-admission advisement questionnaire that is sent along with the instructions to take the TEAs. I don't think that affects your admission because there was someone in the past that never even received a questionnaire to complete and they were still accepted.
That is great news! Thank you for mentioning that. I had to work full time while taking prerequisites. It was definitely tough, but I managed A's in Anatomy and Physiology and a B in micro. Got A's in all the other prerequisites but they were much easier in comparison.

If I get accepted, I plan on picking up books like nursing pharmacology earlier in order to ease the course a little.

May is around the corner but the suspense is killing me :)

that's a good idea. Yeah, I'm nervous, too. I know everyone had to wade through a lot of stuff to get to this point... It has to be worth it!

I called the office today, the person who answered said no, they do not interview in person. She says the only interview they do is through the questionnaire we filled out and turned in the day we took the TEAS. Now I am super glad I took my time answering those questions from the heart. I am texting my friend to clarify the comment about the interview.

I'll wait and see how it goes. If I see I'm stressing out too much, I'll take time off from work. Are you planning on working?

Only if county gives me a CNA job at lac/usc.. I just want to focus on school.

Will you have a better chance on getting a job there as a CNA if you are accepted into the ADN program? Or how does that work?

Well, idk... Maybe if I completed some rotations? That's a good question to ask the admission office...But i know a lot of places like to promote from within.....Maybe it would increase my chances of getting an RN job after I graduate..idk. I definately want to work for the county and with the poor and uninsured...I don't wanna work at Kaiser or cedars...

Hello Fellow Cohorts,

Has anyone called to verify they have received all of your documentation?
