LAC+USC interview new grad RN

U.S.A. California

Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you

I'm in shock right now. I was offered and accepted an RN I Med/Surg position this morning! :yeah: I have been hired on temporary status (?) which to my understanding the only difference is that temporary RN I's do not get benefits. I'm still slightly confused by that whole thing. I also know that it will be a while until I start, but I've waited over a year for this job opportunity and I can wait some more. :) I go in to start the paperwork tomorrow. This still seems so unreal, but I'm excited.

@CoCStudentNurse..CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I know how you feel:) You won't sleep tonight from the excitement. We are going to work together becz that's the same position I got!! PM me so we can talk. Today I went to sign paperwork & did the live scan fingerprint. Only a matter of time now.

CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!!

Congratulations everyone! It seems like the process is finally moving along for some of us. I also applied last November, had my initial interview February, finally got my letter in June. My dream has been to work in the ER and I finally have an interview on Tuesday! I am so excited. Good luck everyone and congratulations......being patient has been tough but well worth it. County has very good benefits, you're all smart to start your nursing careers there.

@eedo_rn & Bri22. Thanks. After signing the paperwork, I felt so happy. @Bri22...where are you interviewing? Good luck wl it!

Thanks myitas! I'm interviewing with the ER tomorrow. Beyond excited. So it looks like it's safe to say that the wait time for interview results is about a month long?

@Bri22, Did you interview @ LAC-USC? The waiting time can vary from ~2wks to a month. I would call after 2wks to check on the status. Its a good way for them to know you are interested in the job. Hope you get the job!

hi myitas! im just wondering if you got hired at olive view? when they offered you the job did they immediately set you up to sign the paperworks? i just recently got an offer at olive view but the hr didnt say when i should come to start the paperwork, she just mentioned that its gonna take atleast 6 wks?? what do you think? how did yours go??

I know this was not addressed to me but I was hired at the same time as myitas. I was hired at LAC + USC for a Med/Surg position. I was called last Wednesday and they immediately set up a time to sign paperwork and begin background check for last Friday. Today I received a call to set up my first health clearance appointment. Everything seems to be going faster than I imagined it would ... it's unreal.

they probably have a different timeframe at lac+usc and olive view.. congrats on the job! :)

@alexrocco, yes I did get hired at LAC-USC. I'm sure each hospital has its own system. Just stay in contact with them if you have any concerns. Congrats yourself on the hire!! So there are jobs out there for us:)

@CoCStudentNurse, Wow, that is so fast! I did not get the call yet. Maybe they are trying to speed things up now. I'll let you know.

I know, right? It sure seems like they are. My first health clearance appointment is on Monday, the 23rd.
