That same thing happened to me.. Just got my license reinstated by passing the requirement as if u were trying to get nclex for d frst time.. Thank God, i got my lcnse..:)

what did you do? do i have to call the california nursing board or i just need to submit my papers. i sent them an email twice but i didnt receive any response. im really sorry for being ignorant. i hope you could help me. thank uoi

I'm not 100% positive, but you still might have issues with the CA BON and their concurrency requirements. Since you were never "licensed" before (you lacked the ability to work without your SSN, even though you took and passed the NCLEX) you will likely have to submit a full application for licensure including your schools documentation of cases. If ALL of your cases were not finished in the same semester you took the corresponding lecture class they will likely deny your licensure because of concurrency issues. You would then have to take classes in CA to make up for your deficiencies, and finding a school with an RN program to accept you is near impossible. Good luck!

There's a real good thread here of those in situations exactly like yours: passed in the NCLEX-RN in CA, didn't have a SSN to complete the licensing process, but now a valid SS# holder that's work authorized and without any further restrictions and able to get the CA license by simply submitting the SS# to the CA BRN with a new application to take the exam (without having to re-take the exam since you already passed in CA).

Look for that thread, it's all there and you'll have your CA license in hand. Good luck.

However, this is NOT the same story, if one passed the NCLEX-RN in any other state outside of CA, they must go thru the normal endorsement process and many if not all, will not get the CA license as they will most likely be stopped due to the concurrency issue, the exception there are those that graduated pre-2004/2005, but it will be on a case-by-case basis.

Those that are denied will then have the 3 years from the application date to meet any said deficiencies deemed by the CA BRN or have the application go into the "abandoned" pile.
