I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!

Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!

I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.

I am applying to their Fall 2014 cohort (BSN BASIC) --as well as the other CSUs. I have a 3.7 GPA so far. My Teas, however, is not competitive. I've gotten an 85% and I am planning to retake it to increase my chances of getting in. I am a Certified Nurse Assistant. I read on previous threads that i might earn extra points for this.

I am excited too! Maybe you can share your stats too! :)

I have not taken my teas exam yet. I have registered for it for October 25! I'm nervous about it and have been studying, but I'm taking physio this semester and its taking up a lot of my time. My gpa is around 3.85 ish but my pre req gpa is 3.6, you will get extra pts for being a cna. Have you looked at the application yet? I'm going to apply the same day I apply for csula, October 1st.

Woohoo!!

How is 85% not competitive for teas? Csula only care about reading and english score. >80% on reading and english is pretty good points. I will take TEAS soon and if I get above 80% I will be happy.

I'm also applying fall 2014. My overall GPA is 3.8 and my prerequisite is 3.96 (thanks to A-'s). So now i'm just stressing over TEAS. I stare at the application everyday since this is the ONLY program I really really NEED to get into.

Metoo. I have no idea when I'm going to apply, I just know that it is gonna be soon. It sucks that I'm volunteering but the coordinator lady said no letters will be made saying if your hours are in progress before I reach the 100 hour requirement.

Please excuse this previous message, lol. I was at school and zoned out so I just reread it and it didn't make sense. What I MEANT to say was:

I have no idea when I'm going to apply because I'm volunteering and the lady says that she will not give out IP letters until after we've reached our service commitment. I don't want CSULA to look at my application and think I'm not a competitive candidate if they do not give me those 2 pts until I've reached the 100 hours, which may be next year after the application deadline.

I am so nervous about something going wrong that I am super paranoid!

deadline is sometime in December so try to cram some hours in. And you have to have volunteer director write a letter saying what your duty was and signed otherwise they won't take it.

If all else fails then you can at least get 1 point for volunteer?

Deadline is jan 6th..... Maybe even though they say no letters.... She will anyways. Hopefully!

I am wondering if the points I have now are good enough to get into the program at CSULA

Overall GPA: 3.884 (seeing if I can get one B+ changed to an A-) (5 points)

Prerequisite GPA: 3.94 (completing anatomy and physiology this fall and winter) (10 points)

TEAS V Reading National Percentage:83 (4 points)

TEAS V English National Percentage:98 (5 points)

plan on taking another one at csula on Oct 25

Volunteer hours at a hospital: 100+ hours (2 points)

Total points: 26

Yes!!! I don't think you need to retake the teas. 26 is a really competitive number. I think I'm gonna have 24 or 25

Yeah you'll get in for sure. Advice on how you got such a high score on English? After reading so much my mind gets mushy and I can't grammar. I only get perfect score in math section which doesn't even matter.

pretty sure you can get in with 24/25 too since cut off is usually 21/22

I really hope I can! I'm getting more and more nervous everytime someone replies to this thread with higher stats then mine, lol.

I am like you, I do really well in math, but english is BLAH.
