Anyone applying to MJC or San Joaquin Delta College?

I'm applying to MJC and Delta for Fall '10. Just wondering if anyone else out there is also applying? :)

March 30, did you do well? I got an 89 and after adding up my points on the application I have a score of 78 ( missed out on the points for a degree and work experience. How about you? I hope we get in!

I got an 88%. I also didn't get the extra points for work experience or a foreign language. I have good grades and I'm hoping that will pull me through. It's one of the few schools that is based on merit's and I am counting on that! I am also applying to Modesto Junior College. Where else are you applying?

Yeah my hopes are high because it's not lottery based but I'm worried there will be many people with degrees or higher TEAS scores :( I applied to scc, arc, sierra, and delta because I live in Sacramento and the farthest I can probably go is Delta. I hope a lot of applicants didn't take the TEAS because this is the only school I know of where you take it before acceptance. The day I took it we had around 30 people between both test times and I think the day you took it there were around 50

It didn't seem like we had that many during my test session. I think 15 people or so were in my session in the morning. Sounds like you applied to many different schools. I think I read in this forum that someone last Fall got into Delta with all B's. Also, I was disappointed with my TEAS score at first until I realized that it was in the 96% Nationally. So, my hopes are high. Do you have any idea on a timeline...when are we supposed to find out about our apps?

It seems like theyre putting a lot more emphasis on people having a degree or work experience now compared to the past applications at delta

Oh ok I heard from the proctor that there were more. I think they may email us earlier than other schools since it's an online app, so I'm going to start checking the Delta email on April 15 when the app closes. Make sure to check it because it won't let you forward messages to your regular email acct. Also I heard from someone I took the TEAS with that his friend got into the program last sem but didn't check her email so she lost her spot.

I am definitely checking my Delta mail! You'll have to let me know when (notice I said, "when") you get in! And I'll do the same. By the way, I can't imagine that there are 50+ applicants that have work experience and a degree ahead of us...could I be wrong? :eek:

Yeah that's what I told myself... There can't possibly be 50 applicants with straight A's, good TEAS score, is an LVN, has a bachelors and is bilingual lol. I do have a good feeling because two of my friends got in last year at the same time. Did you calculate your score using that sheet on the site? Good luck!
