UA MEPN 2018

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey everyone! I know the application deadline is a ways off, but I just wanted to get a forum started for those of us who plan on applying to the MEPN program for 2018! I have all my prerequisites finished and just have to take the HESI. I already took the TEAS for some other schools and scored very well, so I'm not too concerned about HESI as I hear it is a much easier exam without any science content required by UA. Has anyone already taken it? What did you think and how did you prepare? My last 60 units GPA is a 3.80 and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.96. I'm a little nervous about the interview as I have heard in the past it is very short- about ten minutes of talking time. I'll have to figure out how to eloquently but succinctly express my preparation for nursing school and interest in the field. Good luck everyone!!

I think I remember reading you submit it after acceptance. Same thing as official transcripts from school(s) of last 60 hours.

Does anyone happen to know the schedule for those that would be starting in May 2018? It looks like classes would start May 14, but are there any breaks between then and Thanksgiving? I thought I saw there was like a week off in August but unsure. I know it follows the standard school calendar but there are different stop dates in August (before the start date for everyone) depending what summer session you look at.

Hi everyone,

I submitted my application about 3 weeks ago and never received a confirmation email or anything but all the payments went through. Did anyone else receive any notice? Or do you think we will receive a notice after the deadline, Jan 15th?

Also, does anyone know how the financial aid is supposed to work? Because I'm currently a student at a different university, I have already submitted FAFSA for 2017/2018 year. The FAFSA for 2018/2019 year will not be disbursed until August? Anyone know about this?

Thanks!

You can call the main number to ask and someone will check to make sure they have everything needed while you are on the phone. Otherwise I think you are only contacted if they are missing something.

Hi all!

I have just finished applying for the program and I am now just waiting to hear back! I got a 94.5% on my HESI, my last 60 GPA is 3.77 and my prerequisite GPA is 4.0. I am hoping someone might have some insight on my chances (I am so anxious to get into this program). In addition, can anyone tell me about the interview process and possible questions?

Thanks guys!

Ashley

They're having a problem with their system. I would just email them to make sure your application was submitted

I graduated this August. We had a little bit over a week off between summer and fall semester. Just look at the academic calendar for the dates. You also get a month off after Fall semester.

Thanks for the information! I knew about the winter break (and spring break) but was just unsure about August. Do you have any insight about the program to add? Are you happy with your experience overall? Were you in Phoenix or Tuscon?

Do any current students know if there's a beard policy for this program? ;)

Thanks,

David

Google is your friend; here is the link to their handbook. It will have grooming / uniform standards.

Have anyone in started looking for apartments for the Phoenix area?

I think if you look back at the 2017 thread (maybe 2016) there were people who posted about apartments in Phoenix. It may be helpful.
