Starting income for ADN R.N.s in AZ

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I was just hoping that some of you might be able to give me an idea of what is the typical starting income for R.N.s with an ADN in Arizona - particularly for Phoenix and Flaggstaff?

Thank you,

JA

$22/hr is low to average from what I've been told. I know one recent graduate offerred $32/hr, but that was a hard-to-fill position in a smaller town, Native American hospital.

I know that for FMC up in Flagstaff (and I also believe Verde Valley MC which is part of the same group), starting salary for new grad nurses, regardless of degree is 20.95/hr. (at least that's what I was offered). I do believe that the rates for experienced nurses is more, typically around 23-25/hr. range (if I am remembering right), with FMC usually giving like and extra .25/hr. for BSN. This may be a little inaccurate as I'm no longer there, so you may want to take it with a grain of salt. Also FWIW, FMC has a web site with their info on it...

Cheers,

I haven't seen any hospitals in Phoenix that offer a differential for a BSN. Starting pay is an average 24, give or take about .50. Differentials of 15% usually for nights, 6.5 for hours from 11-7 at my hospital and 3.5 from 3p to 11p

What does that mean, "6.5". and "3.5"?

What hospitals in Phoenix offer 3-11 and 11-7 shifts. I thought pretty much all the hospitals only had 7a-7p and 7p-7a.

actually I meant $3.50 and $6.50 and hour for those hours

Oh, OK. I didn't know, I was just using context clues!

So if I want to work at your hospital I can expect to make 27.50/hr if I work 3p-11p or 30.50/hr if I work 11-7??? Wow, if so that is pretty good! :)

The VA offers a couple of bucks more an hour for a BSN. Mayo offers something like .50 cents an hour.

Thrash, I think that your calculations are quite a bit off.
