Ryan House and HOV

What kind of work environment is prevailent, is the pay competitive, what benefits are offered, etc.? I have an interview for them coming up . Well, it is just for a PRN position anyway. Guess we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the reply anyway! Anyone else got any lovley jewels of info ?

The article quotes the executive director saying employee retention rate is 90%. I assume that's annual and mostly CNAs as it's hard work. Aside from temp agencies and economy driven layoffs, I'd be surprised if any local health company had high turnover in this economy.Hello so my friends worked at HOV ryan house they said that pay is low and the benis are crap except for the 401k that's alright they always were complaning about how the nurses are lazy. PTO is pretty fair, 5 weeks after 3 years, 6 weeks after 10 years.
As with any nursing job, salaries max out quick. When I started, I received a raise from my hospital salary. I'm still fairly new and get annual increases but will soon reach the limit, whatever that is. Even when you max out they have an option to give the salary increase as an annual bonus.
Not sure how the in-patient units (Ryan House) work but for field work we're on call for one night (5-8pm) and morning (6-8am) about once every month on average. We get 5 or 6 holidays during the year but need to cover two holidays for 6 or so hours on each holiday which is a real bummer. Employees I've worked with share the mantra "on-call is the worst part of the job."
In-patient units (like Ryan House) are there to stabilize symptoms or if the pt/family prefer to pass in a more clinically supported setting. RNs have assigned CNAs to delegate to. The one's I've been to had a 6:1 pt/RN ratio.
There tends to be many older nurses and there may be an unofficial push to hire younger staff. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck with your interview!
