Program for a Mexican Nurse?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello!

God Willing Im going to move to AZ soon.

Im a Mexican nurse and I just graduated last year and I have been working for 6 months in a hospital in Mexico.

I know that I need to have at least a year of experience so I can be approved in most of the programs ovethere.

So my question is ... is there a program that I can take or they accept my degree so I dont have to do 4 yrs of school again? Thank u very much for ur help!

You might have to call the school to ask because the requirements might be different and some credits might not transfer. There are a bunch of new requirements that they have just added as of September 2011. Like getting a background check and Level one Fingerprint card.

contact the national board of nursing https://www.ncsbn.org/

the education you received in mexico may be enough to qualify to sit for the exam to gain your license here. they will be able to tell you what steps you need to take.

Actually, the OP needs to contact the Arizona state BON. There is no such thing as a "national board of nursing" in the US. The NCSBN the the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, a voluntary professional organization which has no statutory or regulatory authority (like the ANA). Each US state regulates independently the education and licensure of nurses within its own borders.

I meant to write national council, excuse the typo. I thought that since they're the ones who develop the ncelx that that was who she should contact. Thanks for the correction.
