NET Arizona...can anyone give me a heads up?

Know your math WELL!! Also understand reading comprehension. I would advise taking the math class first before taking the NET.

Yeah, I've taken my math classes. I just got done with my prereqs and intermediate algebra was one of them. I got a B in the class (just missed that A by 2 points..grrrr!) anywho, my main concern in over thinking the math since I am used to the algebra now..what kind of math questions are on it? I've heard alot about fractions and decimals........

I am not sure on the number of questions. 60 seems to be sticking in my head at the current moment. If you have no problem in MATH then start reading test questions on paragraphs that are looking for "The meaning or the Title of this paragraph should be...."

The student that failed the NET passed the MATH but failed the READING section. YOU HAVE TO STAY FOCUSED.

As I remember, you did the math with paper and pencil and then chose the answer on the computer. My problem was with percentages. The math will not be difficult for you if you missed an "A" by a few percentage points. Practice doing stuff long-hand as there's no calculators. (caveat....things may have changed since I took it two years ago)

Reading was challenging for me even though I got all A's in my classes and have never had trouble writing. Focus and you will do well. Don't freak yourself out. It's not that bad of a test. If you do poorly and want a better grade, I believe you can take it over again in a number of days.

Know how to multiply, divide, add, subtract fractions. Ditto for decimals........I think they even had some Roman Numerals :lol2:

The test will start with math, and it is loooooooong. It has been at least 20 years since I had any math class and I passed it. There is algebra on it, but you have that covered.

I found the reading part easy. It was a relief compared to the math. Others may find the reading harder. If you read for fun (paperbacks, etc), the reading will not be difficult.

If you're taking the NET test I would highly suggest getting a book called Study Guide for The NET The Hobet The Help Entrance tests by Educational Resources Inc. It has sample tests which allow you to practice both subjects. The actual test is extremely similar. I did great in math due to the book! The reading is weird- I did fine but not as well as I would've wanted. I ran out of time with the reading portion. I'm an A student in reading/writing classes but the reading section is strange. If you have time...get a study guide. You won't regret it. Plus it gives you a solid idea of what the test will include. Good luck!

Took the test (a week later then initially planned) today...but I passed!!! Whoohoo. I got through the math really well, had some issues with percentages..but made through all the same and with an 81%

I could not believe how odd the reading part was, not completely what I was expecting...but managed to get through that with a 76%

I'm so glad that's over (I know, there are many more wonderful tests to get through..but one at a time!!)

Thanks for all your insight..I used online reviews and such and I am positive thats what helped the most.
