Maricopa Wait List Question - page 5

Hello, (I hope this is the right place to post) I was wondering if anyone could tell me or approximate where I might be on the waiting list. My time/date stamp is 12/09 8:03, and I've filled out all... Read More

Is anyone in block 1? If so, which college and how long were you on the waitlist?

I just got placed for fall and my time stamp is from August 2014. So less than a year for me.

However, I applied for Spring CEP so I won't actually be starting this fall because I'm doing the CEP.

Which college did you get placed in? Less then a year is great. I'm hoping for Spring '16.

They placed me at Glendale evening for fall. I'm doing the CEP with Estrella in spring though. My 3 choices were Estrella, Glendale traditional, and Glendale evening/weekend.

I know that Phoenix campus takes a lot I want to say close to 60 (don't quote me on that though). I know for sure that Glendale and EMCC only take 30 students for each cohort. I want to say that mesa and SCC take a good amount. That's all I can remember from the numbers before they placed people this last cycle. Sorry it's not more specific.

You have to take into account that that number drops after they place the cep students, which get placed first.

Actually, the spaces for CEP students are already deducted from the numbers shown on the placement page. SCC can take 90 total students per cohort. But on the placement page, it will only show roughly 60. This is because the other 30 are either CEP or from a hospital affiliated with SCC.

I think that's what she was trying to tell the other poster as well because the numbers on the page right now are for fall placement not spring. So I believe she was trying to explain that just because a campus takes 30, doesn't mean that will be all from the wait list because the CEP students are placed first and will drastically reduce that number.

    Edited to add:

For example, EMCC takes 30 per cohort, but for fall placement they are only taking 2 off the wait list. The rest was occupied by CEP applicants etc.

So if I am not in the CEP program, my placement may take much longer?

Yes it can take longer. That's why it would be ideal to complete the co reqs for the CEP program while you wait to be placed.

It could be, but in general the wait list has decreased a lot. Like I said, my stamp was August 2014 and they just tried placing me for fall from the wait list. I'm not going to take it because I'm doing the CEP. But I looked at the application page and the program they placed me in was only taking 3 people off the wait list, and so my number came up for that and I haven't even been on the list for a year yet.

So if you are wanting to do the associates route, you probably won't have to wait very long anyways.
