I do the same thing! I doubt myself.....mainly the math and also making school and a nursing career work for me while raising my kids. I know plenty of other mom's do it, I just have always been so hands on, I don't want to ever compromise raising my family. The thought of 12 hour days really seems too much for me. So, now that I have have put off school for atleast 2 years, I may feel differently at that point! My oldest will be in high school(scary thought)and my yougest will be entering kindergarten. I think then I will be ready!

Sassie not to be hard on you, but something will always come up in life. HIgh school is a tough time for kids as well as parents the same goes for Kindergarden. If you can get the hard part down now then you well have more time for your kids later on...

You aren't being hard on me....I understand that some sacrifices are made for the greater good of the cause, ut at this point in my life, it just doesn't work out. With my husband schedule and my kids schedule, it's newarly impossible to be as flexible as these nursing programs need me to be. But, that's just for right now. Not to say in a year it won't change? I it may. But the stress it was causing me with wracking my brain on how to make this work in our lives right now was a sign that right now is not the time. Our finances were also another thing to consider....right now I need to work.
At one point I thought I had given up....I realized I didn't need to give up, but re-evalute the timing and this is what feels right. Of course I'd love for it to be different. But this is where I am in life, right now.
Sassie like I wrote, you weren't going to like what I was going to say.. I have known too many people who have delayed something because it was not the right time. Like I said, something well always come up, that is just life. I really think you are stressing too much over nursing school. Nursing school is 75% common sense, and 25% book worm. THe first 10 weeks of block one is the toughtest since you have to go 5 days a week, then last 6 weeks is only 3 days of class and one clincal day.
Im not riding you or picking on you, just trying to empower you...

Maybe you should check out Kaplan Adn online program. They have a new program which is provisionally accredited because it is new. As with all colleges, they are provisionally accredited until they establish a constant percentage for NCLEX.
What state are you in? What is their provisional status in AZ???

So, its been a few months, how is the LPN to BSN program going? Whats the verdict? Is it online or classroom based? Where is the classroom at? Whats the length and the full cost? Thanks!
Its tough, I'm not going to kid you, but I like the fact my class's are only 5 weeks long. I love not taking more then one class at a time. The LPN to BSN is a ground program, so you have class once a week for 4 hrs. When you start clinicals they are on Sat.
I figured I would update, OK so I'm a little late. I graduated from UoP with my BSN and passed the boards... The LPN to BSN was tough, but it is do able... I'm currently working on my MSN, will be done exactly one year. Now I'll tell you, compared to my BSN, the MSN is much harder...

Good for you. What specialty? APN, FNP?
I'm currently in the MSN in Infomatics, one of the nice things about the MSN it is very flexible on what you can get certificated in. I will go with a CNS certificate when I'm all done either in Cardiology or Pain.
