Financial Aid-still waiting

I'm starting the weekend program at GCC this July. I still haven't heard anything about my financial aid. I've turned in all my paperwork, plus the additional documents they requested. I'm just waiting.......

I know, on their website it says they were going to start awarding June 1st! I called last week and was told they are behind schedule and haven't even started looking at applications yet. It's very frustrating, school starts soon and I need to know how much financial aid I will be receiving.

GCC is notorious for having a terrible Financial Aid department. Last semester, I applied for my Stafford Loan in October or November and didn't receive my funds until the very end of March (3 months AFTER classes started).

yep. i did't get my financial aid for block 1 until 2 weeks before the semester ended. block 2 was better by a few weeks, and block 3 went smoothly. knocking on wood for the upcoming semester...

they'll hold your classes for you as long as you have aid pending, and they may give you vouchers to get your books and deduct it from your pending aid. as little as that helps, at least it's something...
