Ethel Bauer Schedule?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I was wondering if someone could tell me what their schedule is like for Block 1? I have 2 small kids at home and not sure what to do with them in the day. Anyone go through this program with young kids? How was it? I really just want to get this done, but not sure what to do with my kids and if I will be able to do this metally and physically with children. Thanks!!

I have literally tried to call them more than 10 TIMES!! Never did they attempt to call me back. So whatever....I went to Apollo instead!! I figure that if they can't even be courteous enough to return a call, how will they be when you get into the school?!

I am in my third week of my first block at EBSN. I love it! The teachers are great and I feel like I'm learning so much already!

For the most part it is Monday- Thursday from about 730AM till about 430PM. Its different for some ppl though. If you have already taken some of the prerequisites then you might not have to be there as late. The classes are small so you can have more one on one time with your teachers. Plus, you have the exact same ppl in every class.

Most people in my class are married and have young children. IIA actually has an onsite daycare so that you can take your little ones there while you are at school. I don't really know a lot of people that use the daycare there, but it might be able to help you.

The program is accelerated so it is only about 18 months. The school isn't in the best area, but you still get the academic challenge you are seeking. I would definetely recommend it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info! I was wondering do you also attend clinicals on Friday and Saturday?

Well we're going to start our CNA clinicals this month but they're on either a Monday or Tuesday. Unfortuately, all the classes that start after us need to already be a CNA to be accepted into the program.

From what I understand, as you get farther along into your different blocks, your clinical days are usually sometime between Monday and Thursday and are not normally on the weekend. I think that if they were to ever need you for a weekend they would let you know ahead of time so that you can get a babysitter or make plans otherwise, but I really don't think that they would ever have clinicals on the weekend. They understand that we all have families and lives and don't want to worry about school 24/7.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Don't give up. If you wanted more information you should have just stopped by. I didn't like to call either cuz I felt like I couldn't get anyone either but stopping by actually helped me cuz I got to see the school and meet other students.

I did, however, look into apollo. Apollo's program is way overpriced and you can't transfer out anywhere. They told me I could transfer to ASU but when I called ASU they said NO WAY!

I'm sure EBSN will eventually raise their tuition! Every school does....:angryfire:down:

I was able to talk to someone at iia in the nursing dept.

You do need to complete a CNA program, but do not actually have to be licsensed or have been working as a CNA for any length of time.

;)

Good point, but right now EBSN is A LOT less. Apollo is raising their tuition again next year!

I got a response back from IIA every time I called. Or they would just answer and I'd get through right then.

Thanks for all the info. I am also considering going through them for school and need child care info. as well I'm in teh same boat with 2 children and wanting to start school and get this done!!! I agree that stopping by is probably best. You should call or go online & request an info. packet on teh program & the child care. I did & it had everything I needed in it. HTH

Good luck.

Let you know ahead of time??? They changed one girl's schedule three times in ONE DAY! Granted, she didn't have kids, but does that make it right?

They never understood anything about us having families. We were told tough, deal with it.

If you do this school, you will do weekends, you will do weird shifts, you will do what they say, jump when they say, and pretend to like it or you will be labeled a trouble maker and they will do everything in their power to try to force you out.

I made it through, I have a family, but I swear I have PTSD from that place. I got a good education.... because I fought for it and with my classmates banded together and taught each other.

I have a son (daughter's in school) and if I could take him here, that would be 700 or so less in bills each month. But I haven't heard great things about them.. They're cheaper than Apollo, but the pass rate is lower (and it went DOWN this year instead of UP) and that sort of stresses me a bit since the time is coming soon to make a decision...

I'm curious to hear more about the scheduling issues mentioned.. what sort of "jump when they tell you to" hoops did you face? How often did they change schedules and from what to what? If you don't mind, I'd love to hear :)
