ADN or BSN programs w/ NO WAITLIST?

Do any of you fellow Arizonians know of any accredited nursing schools (here in AZ) that have NO waitlist!? I've seem to hit a wall when researching nursing schools. From all the calls I've made, Rio Salado is about a year and a half now, MCC (who never answers their phone had a voice recording saying 3 semesters not including summer), ASU is like talking to a wall and don't know what they're talking about (which is disappointing...) :/ So, from what it seems, anywhere else I've called and left a message has not gotten back to me, do any of you fellow students/nurses know of such programs with no wait once pre-reqs are complete?

Hi Nicolemsm!

I know that GCU does not have a wait. The program is expensive but I've heard it's AMAZING!! I'm on the list. I should find out in October. Hope that helps!

I believe all the Maricopa County Community colleges have waiting lists. They did when I first applied and I had to pick several campus choices in case my first was not available when my time came up. Maybe Everest or Chamberlain. I got in through Banner Nurse Fellows-if all your prereqs are done, you can apply to that program and may not have to wait. Good luck.

I go to Phoenix College (part of the MCC system) and will be waiting at least three semesters - I have little choice because I don't have the cash to go somewhere else, and my employer is picking up the tab. But I've heard from fellow students at PC that Everest College and Grand Canyon University will both take you right in - no waiting, as long as all of your prereqs are done and your grades are good. The downside is that both of these are private, so they are way more expensive. I've heard tremendous things about the nursing program at GCU - I may try and go there for my MSN when it comes time to do that, and try to get tuition reimbursement...... All of the public institutions (MCC, ASU, etc.) have big wait lists from what I hear

ASU does not have a waitlist.

Those who don't get in reapply the next semester with no advantage over first time applicants (unless you consider their opportunity to retake course/replace grades an advantage).

I forget how many spots are available since they cut enrollment starting this coming fall.

Thanks for correcting me on that..... I am sure that all of the Maricopa Community Colleges have the same wait lists (I am at Phoenix College - I have about a three-semester wait not including summer semesters). I am told GPA doesn't matter as long as it's 2.0, but I still want to get the highest GPA & grades I can because I plan to continue on to an RN to MSN bridge program somewhere, where I'm sure that these grades will matter......

NAU has not wait list. You either get in or you don't. Also, their application pool is quite a bit smaller than ASU's since they are so rural. But it's a great program!

Probably referring to the admissions list. It takes time for most colleges and universities to check over all of your transcripts, what grades you've gotten and what your GPA is to be initially admitted. And from what I hear, they have a lot of applicants at GCU - so that's going to make the admission process longer. But once you are admitted you are in - no waiting. There is no actual "waiting list".

In contrast, I have done all my pre-reqs and my app has been accepted at MCCNP, so I am in the system, but have to wait for a seat in the nursing program there to open up. They go by the date/time stamp to place you once you've been accepted.

I don't think Chamberlain was mentioned and it is a BSN- no prereqs required as they are included in the program, if I remember correctly, they also have a 4 or so time a year admit process, so if there is a wait its just a few short months. Not whole semesters or years like MCC's. About as pricey as ASU though. But in 3 years you come out with a BSN.

Hey guys, thank you all for your amazing responses on schools, but I really think I found a program that fits me best and I can achieve my ADN in less than 2 years- I chose to do the Central Arizona College route. If there are any CAC grads out there I would love to talk to you. (I'm thinking of transferring to ASU for my Rn-BSN when I'm complete- but I'll wait to talk about that until I have to cross that bridge~!) Once again, thank you all so much !

yelnikmcwawa could you please tell me more information on the NAU program. It looks like I'm not doing the CAC route... it's too much of a time waster.
