Hi everyone.

I hope somebody can answer my query. I am an IEN. Should I get a visa visa through PNP, which means I have an employer - sponsored visa, how many tries will the employer allow before the temporary license be revoked? Since it is a conditional offer of employment , with the condition that you pass the CRNE, what if you didn't pass the CRNE on your 1st take?will they give you the opportunity for the THREE takes before they will decide to revoke your temporary license?

thanks and Godbless.

so i guess, i can conclude that the succeeding months will not be the best time to get to canada.. thanks for the insights janfrn..

How was it vincnet777? Did you pass the CRNE?

OOOPS!!!

Sorry about my last post. I only meant to say to be careful about false promises to Canada. The portion that may have seemed self-serving was not meant to be.

Anyhow, for those who never read it the jist of my post was that nursing jobs are available in limited supply. This does vary by province and for the most part consist of locations that may not be considered desirable by Canadian nurses who have more choices. Some long term care homes may also be interested in you as well. My PERSONAL view is that there are many who will promise the "streets of gold" to you. This is false. There is no "DREAM!! BUT....there is a better future here than back home for sure.

If you are serious, prepared to spend some $, do some research etc you can and may be rewarded for your efforts. I am NOT a fan of consultants, recruiters, representative...if you can do 4 years of nursing and pass you can do this on your own or for less money that the $3,600 Canadian one person was going to be charged....ridiculous amount of money for anyone!!!

Good luck to all!!! BE CAREFUL OF FALSE INFO!!!!! Yes, I am Canadian born, hospital administration education from Saskatchewan...girlfriend is Master Dgree RN from Cebu, her daughter also RN....both have good nurse educator jobs now but started out as dpmestic and retail for 1 year before getting jobs here in BC....not easy....BUT worth the effort....:)

Take care

Greg

Hi Everyone!

I'm a new member of the forum and found it very interesting because I know that from here I can get an answer to all my questions.

By the way, I'm already here in Calgary under tourist visa and planned to find a job as a caregiver so that I can get a working permit. My uncle here in Canada has a friend who's willing to sponsor me under the Caregiver Live-in Program. But then, during the processing, my employer has changed her mind not to proceed the agreement and I am having a problem to look for a new employer. Now, I want to try CRNE so that my visa would be switch to PR and be able to bring my family here in the future. But my concern is, I had a very little work experience back in the Philippines,,I had worked as a Volunteer Nurse for 4 mos in the year 1998, 3 mos. as a Private Nurse in the same year. I'm scared that I'm possibly not elegible to take the written exam due to my short period of experience and its been long time since I graduated in BSN (1997). And one thing more, I haven't take the IELTS yet and have fear that I might not pass it because I'm not very well in English that's why I know that it will be hard for me to take it. And one thing more, I got a very low score in Local Board Exam in the Philippines which is only 75%. So I have a lot of worries and I need clarification with my condition. If ever I'm not qualify to take the exam do I need to take some refresher course?

Hope that I can get some anwers and advices in this forum. Pls help...

You need to pass a English exam to meet both the province college of RN as well as immigration requirements. Finding employer to change your visa I think will be hard and you may have to consier leaving whilst going through the process as changing to PR can take anything up to 12 months

Thanks silverdragon!

Let say I have already passed the IELTS,,am I qualify to take CRNE even my work experience is very little?

It may have an impact on employer but then again it may not. I can't really say as a lot will depend on province and what nurse jobs availability there is

Dear colleagues;

i am Jordanian nurse have got the master degree of nursing, working now in Saudia Arabia, and i am in my way to apply for the CRNE of Ontario,so i have some inquiries hoping to have the answers from ur highly appreciated experience.

1) i attended the general exam of IELTS and got these results( reading:6, listening: 6.5, writing: 7, Speaking: 7) overall 6.5. So, Do you think this results would be acceptable for the CNO license or i have to attend the academic version?

2) i am working with the last 4 yrs and 6 months as a nursing lecturer at health college (no practical work except the training of the students) even though i had a 3 yrs experience of working as an oncology nurse before. so, Do you think this will not be an obstacle to get an employer there in Canada (online- searching) even i have the master degree?

3) is there an eligiblity letter or document showing that i am eligible?

4) regarding the temporary license, from the CNO site its clear that its for 6 months validity, but i heard from some friends that it could be valid for 12-24 months, do you have any idea about that????also the couting time of this period will start from i apply for the exam, or the time i got the temporary license, or the time i arrived there in Canada??????

thanks alot for your remarkable help for all of us

wish u all the best

Welcome to the site coolnurse. If you check the CNO website it should state on their what English exam is acceptable and generally it is academic level

hi!

im a filipina nurse still here in the philippines. my mother works as a psw on toronto, ontario.

we are already working on our immigration papers last year, and my mother thought that we can be able to migrate early this year (2012) so she applied for my CRNE last nov 2011 but as it turns out we had difiiculty on our papers regarding my father's name and birthdate. were still waiting for our papers.

Can i still use this application that i have? or will i have to re apply after we arrived at ontario?

*and can i include credits on non-nursing units? i studied occupational therapy a bit and still on my masters program
