New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

hi everyone, i just went to AHPRA office here in melbourne. they said there was just some error on the form. CV should only signed by US while the work statement by our EMPLOYER.. no need for the CV to be signed by employer

Specializes in Med-Surg / ICU / Aged Care.

@countmein, ryan09, jesse-gurl, newmac.... THANK you, NEED good luck really..

@jesse-gurl.. may i know which state or school require you to have polio vaccs? is it also a requirment of DIAC? it's not included in my list eh, thus, i only have visited clinics for the other vaccs, i wasnt able to ask about polio.. tsk tsk... makes me think... thanks...

Hi Doza!

I have certain doubts concerning the CV,too....

So i had a response for you already Nurse Nathalie until I saw the post shynern07 that the CV should be signed by the applicant only :)

I edited it out so I won't add to the confusion.

Thanks for the help shynern07:yelclap:

hey ryan09!!! hows it going? i got your sms but im already here in the US.. i was reading your posts here, happy to know you got a job already.. congrats mate!

No worries. i just went to the Board and clarify the CV part. Hate it. The reception person wasnt really accomodating. i have a lot of questions on filling up the form but she just said she cant help and that I should answer the questions on how i understood it. She said i just have to read it. But then I asked her to just please explain about the CV. She even got mad. grrr.. But then when I gave her the proof on the website regarding the CV be sgned by employer, she calmed down and explained that there was an error and that CV should only be signed by us. O well..

I hope you could assist me guys here in filling up..hehe.. Thanks

to everyone here in this thread, continue pursuing your Oz dream of becoming an RN.. never give up... happy to see there are still those familiar names providing info to fellow nurses.. Im one of those successful filipino nurses who aspired to be an RN1 in Australia and I made it! I worked as RN1 in ICU after the bridging course at ETEA..

hi,

I have in my hand the vaccination requirement of University of Ballarath and it says "one documented dose of Polio vaccine including date of administration." I got the dose just yesterday. So there you are.......... you now know where it came from.

cheers
