Free standing detox and crisis management unit 16 beds: Day shift 1 to 2 RN's 3-4 Mental Health Techs, Evening shift 2 RN's 2-3 Mental Health Techs, Night shift 1 RN 1-2 Mental Health techs.
Up to 64 beds. Usually around 20-30 males and 12-20 females. Two RNs. Three detox techs. Today, we had six patients with recent suicidal ideation, and another four who had to be on behavioral contracts for various issues. I'm thinking I need to find a new place to work.
Inpatient ARTS detox unit. 21 beds, for day/evening shift we get 2-3 RNs, 1 to 2 MHTs. We do not utilize LPNs for some unknown reason; the rest of our psych hospital does, but not the ARTS unit. Our max ratio is 3 RNs and 2 MHTs. Night shift gets 1-2 RNs and 1 MHT.
I work on a concurrent disorder post detox stabilization unit with 20 beds that's staffed by 2 Rn's and 3 Lpn's. The detox unit upstairs is a 12 bed unit that is staffed by 2 Rn's and two Lpn's.
.....well....THIS /\ speaks volumes......NIGHT SHIFT....Detox=1-2 RN's/32 clients....once in a great while there's an LNA overnight....say a prayer and git r done....

Just wondering what the current staffing models/levels are for your facilities? Specifically inpatient detox units, all substances. Thanks in advance!
