Hey all! Great idea obtaining a pharmacology book to begin studying! I am a CNA and work on a MedSug unit at a community hospital. I think I'm good on medical terminology and anatomy but will review those topics, as well. My Nursing Fundamentals Classes start in April! Yay!

I plan to spend tons of time with my friends and family now. I also will be taking a STNA course.I already have experience with patient contact in a hospital from a previous internship but I my school recommends becoming an STNA for a better feel of the basics.

So many things...so LITTLE time!!!! First and foremost, I have to start getting my immunizations in order to see what I need and don't need. Plan to schedule my CPR course as well as get my police check done. I'm leaving my job soon- hopefully that will give me enough time to prep everything for September. OH, also to have a bit of fun with family and prep academically for school.

I'm moving in with another student so I can have more peace and quiet for studying and so I can get restful sleep. I start in late September, so I am making time with friends and SO, networking with other queer nurses in my city, taking a few trips, getting my books and supplies together and budgeting, budgeting, budgeting!

I did a deep clean of my house top to bottom, organized my closets, donated a lot of clothes, got a mani pedi and went on vacation :) Wouldn't change it one bit!

I start in 3 weeks and I'm very excited. I've been working out, spending time with my daughter and trying to relax. I wish I was able to purchase my books ahead of time so that I could start reading them but financially I wasn't able to, so I will be getting them a week before school starts. These last 3 weeks I will be cleaning my apartment and getting organized.

make sure to get all your assigned pre-class reading done so you come prepared and don't start off behind.

I'll be starting in Spring 2015. My husband and I have been working like crazy and paying off debt for the past couple years while I was taking my pre reqs in preparation for me not working much during nursing school. Hubby and I refinanced our cars for lower payments and paid off all of our credit cards and saved up an emergency fund to help pay the bills and incidentals without my income. I just quit my 9-5 cubicle job & accepted a PRN entry-level job in an ER to get some hands on experience and have a little income while in school. By the time school starts I will be done with my training and ready to pick up some shifts around my school schedule. I've also been studying nclex guides and trying to make flash cards for the concepts that are still fresh in my mind from pharmo & A&P. I'm so anxious to start already! (I'm sure I'll look back on this post and laugh at how naive and eager I am right now lol)

I'd double check with your professors before recording the lectures. My school has a policy against recording lectures and we need to ask permission before even bringing a laptop into the classroom.

I haven't started my Nursing classes yet. I'm still getting a few of my core classes done and taking pre reqs. Is it like super hard?

Specializes in NICU.

I start my BSN program on the 25th and I'm extremely nervous and excited. I have my books, scrubs, watch, stethoscope, shoes, and immunizations ready. All i have to do is go buy some basic school supplies. I haven't even tried to read any of my books. I've been bingeing on netflix and the gym. I have started to review my A&P book..... But other than that just enjoying me time. I know i will be busy but I don't think I will be able to tell my chihuahua no. She is my study buddy and my cure to stress. LOL :-)
