Hey everyone! Looking to chat with others about the ZSFG ED RN Training Program that opened for application about a month ago (and closed May 10th, 2019). The eligibility list was generated 2 weeks ago, did anyone receive any further info about when they will call for interviews? Or has anyone gotten notice for an interview? Thanks!
@lavender91yeah same, i guess for now we will have to talk on here! anyway have you heard anything back again since sending in acceptance paperwork? im wondering about all we will have to do for clearance & when & where & if 10/7 is actually our start date
@lavender91 oh great, I was planning to do that tomorrow or Fri if I hadn’t gotten any more details from them
@lavender91 i got a VM today from someone in HR - i think her name was Priscilla about scheduling pre-employment appt. Called back and left her a VM, hope to hear back soon. did you get in touch today?
@lavender91 cool, im sure ill get in touch to schedule on Tues. Did she say what was entailed for the onboarding? blood (tb, mmr, etc) & drug tests, fingerprinting, N95 fitting, HR paperwork? all of the above? anything else?
I'm relocating back to the bay for this job so i probably wont be able to make it up there until the 12th or 16th... when you spoke with Priscilla, did it seem like appointment had to made for this week?
@ru11 I accepted one of the first appts available so I’m sure there are more the following week. It’s three separate appts: one for fingerprinting, one for HR onboarding, and one for the physical (it didn’t specify drug testing but idk) where you also submit proof of immunizations and I think they’ll do a 2step TB test.
Hey there, just applied for the perinatal training program. Received an email saying I met the qualifications for the job posting and that I should expect an email soon laying out next steps. Any insight into how this process works? When did you receive your ranking in the list of candidates/get emailed for an interview? Any intel is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
@scRN1995 I also just applied for the perinatal training program! I got an email 2 days ago with the ranking. My hunch (based on prior applications to SF General) is that they'll reach out to us in the next few weeks/month with a notification that a position is officially open and we'll have to 'opt in' to show our interest. It then takes a while for hiring managers to reach out for interviews. I know it's a pretty slow process, so it could be several months until we get an interview! One thing I'm unclear on is how they move through the ranking list. Not sure if they just make their way down person to person for interviews? I'm pretty far down on the list so I'm worried it's a bit of a long shot to get an interview!
Hi there! Does anyone had advice for applying to this program? What have you like and not like about it? I am interested in the ED, however our senior practicum (which would have been in the ED) was replaced with online simulation and small clinic work due to COVID-19. Do you think that will take me out of the running for this position? I have almost a year of nurse extern experience on an Intermediate Care Unit.
Also, do you remember when the application opened up last year?
Thanks for your help!

@ru11 I tried too but I guess we can't send messages until we have a certain amount of posts on the site... I don't really want to post my personal info on this post though ?
