Hi there!
Just wondering if anyone else has applied to the Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC) ADN program for Fall 2018? This is my first time applying, but I'm thrilled to have even reached the place of being able to apply. Does anyone know what is considered a "good" index score for YVCC? I'm nervous, hopeful, and excited!
Thanks and good luck to all that have applied!
@Yenetsiy I did not get in for Fall start, but my TEAS was an 80 and my overall score was a 37, which was much lower than the lowest accepted (52 for Fall) So, I will try again for Winter and will likely retake the TEAS test to get a better score.
It sounds like it would be worth your taking the test and getting the 2 point bump, every point helps!
They included my index score in my rejection letter from the Fall application round (I was not accepted for Fall 2018 start).
I'm not quite sure how/what they're using to calculate, because the excel sheet online gave me a different index score and it didn't seem to be working very well. I just saved it to my computer and found the spots where there were errors and was able to calculate things that way, but it was still different than the index score they gave me. I think I was ending up w/a score of like 32 and they told me in my letter that I was a 37...
I also noticed that the GPA calculator tool appears to have been removed from their website :/ maybe they're fixing it to work better?
Did you get everything sent in to them? Have you emailed Rebecca to make sure that you have everything in that they need? She's really good about responding to emails.
I would either email or call again, just be specific; try explaining that last time you were missing some of the requirements and you want to be sure that everything looks to be in order for this application round and if there is anything else that you need to do. Hopefully she's got everything and your application will go through this round!
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! Don't be intimidated! She is actually very nice and super knowledgeable, but she is also very busy, so, she had told me it was usually best to email her. Maybe try that? Sometimes it takes a couple of emails back-and-forth to make sure all of your questions get answered, but I think that tends to be the most effective form of communication; plus you can always refer back to it later on if needed!
